Not my thing...this was recommend to me by someone who thought it would pull me out of my reading slump. No dice. But I bring it up today in the context of #weirdestbookcover, does anyone actually like movie covers? I avoid them at all costs and it seems like most people do, yet publishers continue to print them so they must make money. #riotgrams

Saknicole I so agree about movie covers! I hate when the only edition available has one, so it's that or nothing. 7y

everlocalwest @Saknicole Because I am a ridiculous person, I get a smug sense of satisfaction when I have a book in it's original edition that is now only available as movie the in. 😂 I guess this only happens when the film eclipses the book. I'm thinking about books like

The #ebook version I was reading on #libby had a hold placed on it, but my local #library had this copy in stock. About 2/3 done.

Perelandra | C.S. Lewis

I hadn‘t realized how many weird and truly baffling covers there were for C.S. Lewis‘ Space Trilogy until I read them with my book club a couple years ago, and spent time looking for cover images for our FB event posts. I own the two on the right and have always found them nostalgically and endearingly weird, but the one on the left? I have no words. 😶😦😂 #weirdestbookcover #riotgrams

The weirdest one I could find on my shelf- although I think it's actually pretty cool, inside and out. If you look close you can see the middle of the pages where the text flips upside down. Truly strange inside and out 👍🏻

lycomayflower I feel the same way about the LOTR paperbacks I had as a kid. Different set, equally whaa? in their own way, but when I come across them now they make me happy. 7y

xicanti This is the edition I had, and it pissed me off SO MUCH because it gave away the ending in the intro. What terrible, horrible choices the book designers made. 7y
