#October #BookspinBingo @TheAromaofBooks

#weeklyreport 6 books, 1984 pages on a very nice streak. Im hoping doesn't stop once im back at work 😅

Details in comments ⬇⬇⬇

CloakNQuill 1 - Middle of the Night 05/10 3🌟
Not my favorite RS book. Didnt give me the atmosphere & driving plot like the others.

6 - Mexican Gothic 02/10 2🌟
For a book so massively praised... expected more than Crimson Peak combined with What Moves the Dead

14 - Library/We Used to Live Here 05/10 4🌟
Probably my favorite of the week. Eerie, creepy, filled my love for gothic horror.

16 - Audio/Coven 06/10 4🌟
🌶🌶🌶 Badass FMC, enemies to lovers 😍

CloakNQuill 21 - FREE/Seventh Bride 04/10 3🌟
I absolutely loved Maria& both familiars! 💜 Its a good adaptation of Bluebeard. I wish the tasks were longer portions of the book. Rhea grows into herself & her courage very well.

22 - FREE/Stalked by Seduction & Shadows 01/10 4🌟
🌶!!! There arent enough peppers. An intriguing story surrounding a possessive vampire Lord & seductive FMC with war lingering. Dark, dual perspective, kinky/BDSM, touch her & 💀

Starting the year off a little slowly, only reading these two books. And I haven't finished anything recently.

Finished:
Verity is an engaging human,Nancy is for nostalgic sake, Emily Bell‘s book has fleshed out, intriguing characters, themes of friendship, grief, letting go, The train was about true giving, adventure, 2nd chances.

In process: #goldenageclub-English murder;teashop & bookstore-what‘s not to like? another murder in the snow in the early 1900s.

AlaMich I‘m reading An English Murder also. I like the fact that the author gets in some sly humor and some social commentary. I think it‘s better than the run of the mill classic English cozy. 11mo
kspenmoll @AlaMich I agree! A pleasant surprise. 11mo

My reading is slowly coming back. I find that I can read read for about 30-45 minutes at a time, but its usually closer to 30 minutes most times. I currently am working on The Martian and Seven Husbands for my book meetings this week. And when those are done, I will get onto In Memorium and When the Elephants Dance. I will attempt to work on Little Fires and Charlotte's Web, but I have some others in the wings to work on.

Cinfhen So glad to hear that you‘re starting to return to reading!! Hope that means you‘re beginning to feel better! 14mo
melissajayne @Cinfhen it‘s still a little bit of a struggle, so I‘m going to be moving in with my parents for a few years and rent out my apartment during that time. I talked to my sister about it and she gave me some great advice and as she was saying it, I made the decision to go and stay with my parents for that time.⤵️ 14mo
melissajayne @Cinfhen my sister said something about me being overly recovered rather than being just barely recovered from cancer treatments and moving backwards. Something about being at like 105% ready to go back and going to 95% ready instead of being 90% ready and going back to 80% ready to be on my own. I‘ve just barely recovered from my last surgery (got the all clear to go swimming about 2 weeks ago). 14mo

melissajayne @Cinfhen I just have so little motivation to do anything, including just the regular day to day routine. A decade ago, I had no problem doing the daily routine, but most days I just plop down on my couch and turn my laptop and tv and basically just ignore most things, until I can‘t stand the mess, etc. 14mo
Cinfhen You‘re body and mind has been through so much. It‘s understandable that you have zero motivation, energy and strength. Moving in with your parents seems like a great way to begin to rebound. Best of luck - Every little step is a victory 🙌🏻💗 14mo
melissajayne @Cinfhen they have; thanks. 14mo

Slow week, work hard, but enjoyed my conference!
Cat Step was good.
Daring Night was 2nd in a Liverpool detective series that I think I enjoy more because it‘s in Liverpool 🤷‍♀️
Started Holly last night and am trying not to read at 100 miles an hour!!

Bookwormjillk I‘m not letting myself start Holly today until my chores are done because I know what‘s going to happen once I do. 14mo
TrishB @Bookwormjillk you have good self control! 14mo
Cinfhen Is the new King a stand alone??? 14mo

Cinfhen Glad you enjoyed your conference 😄 14mo
BarbaraBB A good week on all fronts! 14mo
TrishB @Cinfhen errr, yes and no. The story is stand alone. But Holly is a much loved character who appears in previous books and there is a lot of assumption that you know past story lines. I have 100 pages to go but sleep calls! 14mo
TrishB @BarbaraBB 😘 14mo
Cinfhen Ahhhh. I think I‘ll pass than xxx enjoy the rest of the book ♥️ 14mo
