And Then There Were None | Agatha Christie
post image

📚And Then There Were None
📚LOTR - I read the trilogy & The Hobbit in 8 days for honors English bc: procrastination
📚Their Eyes Were Watching God
📚The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - enjoyed this more than I expected.

📘The Handmaid's Tale - it was better when it was dystopian fiction & less instruction manual
📘Harry Potter - author is problematic, but I really enjoyed the series, especially Goblet of Fire

dabbe Love your choices. RE: HP, I just can't rectify that she created such an incredible fantasy world and is so horrible in reality. Thanks for playing and sharing. 💚📚💙 3h

At least I did better than with the movies! Favorites are The Grapes of Wrath, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, and Charlotte‘s Web. Has anyone not played yet? See @dabbe for the link. #ThreeListThursday #TLT

I took the #threelistthursday quiz. It‘s all books from PBS‘s Great American Read list but the books are numbered from 100-1. My score is 24 of 100 - 24% but that‘s not right because I‘ve only read 23 books on this list. I don‘t know how I got 24. This is the 23 books I‘ve read from this list and my thoughts about them.

dabbe W🤩WZA! Great score, and I love that you shared all of them and why! Thanks for playing and sharing. 💙📚💚 23h

Only 45/100 for this retired English teacher. 😱 Thanks to all of you who played, I am reprioritizing my TBR! Favorites today are above; hard to limit to just three.

What got me most about this list was how to rectify things like WAR & PEACE, CHARLOTTE'S WEB, 50 SHADES OF GREY, and THE TWILIGHT SERIES being on the SAME list! #whatthe 🤣
Here's the link again if you'd like to play: https://shorturl.at/SVh6e

BooksandCoffee4Me 42, not stellar. Loved DuMaurier‘s Rebecca! And so remember that day when my poor 6th-grade boys were trying so hard to hide their crying during Where the Red Fern Grows. Oh, and love that Hatchet got one of my inner-city guys to read a whole book! 1d
willaful @BooksandCoffee4Me My husband loved Hatchet. 1d
willaful 35 for me. And a lot of DNFs. 😂

It's an odd list! I have no idea what the theme is.

Librarybelle 36 for me, though I‘ve read parts of the Narnia series, not the whole series. Lots on my to read list. 1d
dabbe @BooksandCoffee4Me My 4th grade teacher read WHERE THE RED FERN GROWS to us chapter by chapter after afternoon recess to calm us down. She had never read it before, and when she got to the end, she had to run out of the room sobbing while we sobbed without her. 😭

Loved HATCHET, too, though DOGSONG is my favorite of his. Thanks for playing and sharing. 💙📚💚

dabbe @willaful From their website: “The Great American Read's criteria primarily focused on fiction books, specifically those loved by the American public. A survey conducted by PBS, The Great American Read, and a polling service formed the basis for the top 100 list.“

No wonder it's all over the place! 🤣 Thanks for playing and sharing. 💙📚💚

dabbe @Librarybelle 🎯🩵🎯 Did you see that only ONE Christie made the list? And it happens to be my favorite of hers, AND THEN THERE WERE NONE. I loved teaching that in high school! Thanks for playing and sharing. 💙📚💚 1d
shortsarahrose 22 for me, which is better than I expected? Agree with The Little Prince. Moby Dick and Little Women are other favorites. 1d
Librarybelle Yes! That‘s my favorite Christie too. Maybe it made the list because it is so suspenseful??? In any case, a worthy mention. 1d
dabbe @shortsarahrose 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 for reading MOBY DICK. I got as far as “Call Me Ishmael.“ 🤣 Thanks for playing and sharing. 💙📚💚 1d
dabbe @Librarybelle That one had one of the best surprise endings I have ever read. 1d
Butterfinger I look forward to these each Thursday. Thank you. 1d
dabbe @Butterfinger Well, you just made my day! TY! 😍 1d
Amiable 46! I‘m surprised—I usually score much lower on these lists. I‘m with you —how dare this list include both “A Prayer for Owen Meany” (my favorite book of all-time) and “50 Shades of Grey”??? That‘s a travesty. 😖😠 21h
RaeLovesToRead Lol, there is a lot of crap on this list 🤣🤣🤣 i got 34/100 18h
TheBookHippie @RaeLovesToRead lots of CRAP. And I read a lot of crap on it 🤦🏻‍♀️😝 18h
RaeLovesToRead @TheBookHippie I think I made it through about 5 pages of Twilight. Nope. 16h
TheBookHippie @RaeLovesToRead I refused to open the book 😂😝 16h
BkClubCare If I count the first in a series, I hit 71. 🤪 2h
dabbe @Amiable Another thing weird about Americans, I guess. 🤣 You beat me by one! Thanks for playing and sharing. 💙📚💚 1h
dabbe @RaeLovesToRead Our country is just plain weird. Next week will be the BBC one, so we'll see what your list is like! Thanks for playing and sharing. 💙📚💚 1h

28/100. Ouch. 🤣
I had two that were DNRs for me-Gone Girl and Left Behind. Several I think I may have read, but can‘t remember. I didn‘t count those.

Favorites-Joy Luck Club, One Hundred Years of Solitude, The Hitchhiker‘s Guide to the Galaxy.

dabbe I say if you think you read it, it counts! 🤩 Thanks for playing and sharing. 💙📚💚 1d

I have read 65 (I am counting some series even if I only read the first)

Favorites:
P&P
Beloved
Sirens of Titen ties with Hitchhikers Guide

3 I do want to read:
Anne Green Gables
Their Eyes Were Watching God
Another Country (one of the only Baldwins I have not read)

#TLT #ThreeListThursday @dabbe

dabbe The only one I've read from your list if P&P! And you kicked my butt! Thanks for playing and sharing. 💙📚💚 1d
ChaoticMissAdventures @dabbe how many did you get? I feel like a lot of these I read for school but I also just love a classic. I love seeing Kurt Vonnegut and Douglas Adams with the likes of Austen and Bronte that all do amazing if different work. 1d
dabbe @ChaoticMissAdventures I get so busy posting the original that I always forget to post my own score! 🤣 I got 45/100. I have some serious reading to do! 🤩 1d
ChaoticMissAdventures I looked at your post and thought, she keeps saying people are beating her but she will not say her number it must be so low 😂. 45 is good!!! You are beating many people 🎉 1d

I've read so many authors from #threelistthursday, just not the specific book that was chosen. 🤣
Random Thoughts
🩵 I was happy to see Jean Auel's The Clan of the Cave Bear on the list. The series is so good, but I don't see it on many lists.
🩵 I'm finally going to tackle Don Quixote in 2026.
🩵 A #bookishconfession: I've started Great Expectations 3 different times and never finished. I have no idea why. I liked what I read! 🫠
@dabbe

TheSpineView I enjoyed The Clan of the Cave Bear series too. 1d
dabbe CLAN is now higher up on my TBR. I tried QUIXOTE but failed. 😖 Perhaps I'll try again. I totally understand re: GREAT EX. It took me a while to get past a LOT of descriptive stuff, but then the story just takes off! That one and BLEAK HOUSE are my favorites by Dickens. Thanks for playing and sharing. 💙📚💚 1d
lil1inblue @dabbe Clan is so great, but I *loved* the second book, The Valley of the Horses. I'm starting the third book next month-ish. I really need to try Great Ex one more time. Perhaps a chapter a day type thing like Les Mis. That's how I'm hoping to do Quixote next year. Thanks for #tlt - it's such a fun exercise! 1d
dabbe @lil1inblue I'll reread GREAT EX with you when you're ready and if you want! And TY! I try to make it fun! 😍 1d
