pickI needed a reminder, re-invigoration today...and I found this little book of photos on Hoopla, so within an hour, I felt better. I think we all need that reminder from time to time that we are not alone, especially women, introverts, blue dots in dark red seas, and others who often feel a bit secluded in this crazy time. pickI wish things had gone differently. Parts of this book made me nauseated, thinking about what could have been. I know I am lucky to have this woman as a beacon of hope, honesty, kindness, resilience, and moral integrity and reflection. She believes in the goodness of humanity, and bringing people together. She is smart, thorough, unafraid, and hugely capable. She reads all the time, and grows from what she reads. A bittersweet sense of closure.

About halfway through this on audio and it is breaking my heart. I believed in Hillary Clinton and she has become quite the role model to me. Following my most recent Brene Brown read, themes of belonging vs fitting in are on my mind; Hillary always stood up for what she believed in, had the intelligence to back up her convictions, and spoke with confidence + humility. SHE BELONGS.
Plus, she's a book nerd. So many great titles are mentioned here.
We Americans may differ, bicker, stumble, and fall; but we are at our best when we pick each other up, when we have each other's back. Like any family, our American family is strongest when we cherish what we have in common and fight back against those who would drive us apart.
