Oof. I knew this would be hard, but I thought knowing the ending from the anime would‘ve helped. It did not. This story is pain. Overall it is a tough subject matter and for a shojo, this was groundbreaking for its time and IMO still is. The characters have depth, the story feels real, and it will stay with you long after the last page.

Overall series rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I probably shouldn't have started this one until I had the next one, the last of the series, ready to go. And yet, I couldn't stop myself. I read this as quickly as I could and now I need volume 15. This one had all the feels, I loved every second of it. Most of it was intense, and I honestly don't know how the next volume will wrap everything up.

Not as good as the last few volumes, but still enjoyable. There were a few moments I really enjoyed, but then some were just boring. I'm really starting to get antsy since I know there are only 2 volumes left in the series.

I‘m still working my way through this series. The closer I get to the end, the more I‘m slowing down, because I know what‘s coming.

A sad point of this series are the spelling mistakes; more than I‘ve ever seen in manga before. While it‘s really only averaging about 1 mistake a manga, this is a format I usually don‘t see that occur.

Also Halloween wine glass because it‘s Augtober.

The beginning of this volume kept the intensity of the last one. The suspense was great, it kept me reading. I also enjoyed getting to see everything work out. I'm thankful this one didn't end on a cliffhanger because I don't have the next volume yet.

Volume 24 is probably the most intense volume out of the whole series. There were some scenes that established backstory between characters, but it ended up being mostly action throughout the whole thing.

The story is building up to something that is about to happen. I found this one had a bit of suspense to it, there were a lot of secrets that started to come out. Some of it was a little confusing and didn't flow the best, though.

Okay, so they are starting to bring in more of a political aspect to the story. We aren't really sure of some character's motives right now. It also is a bit of a cliffhanger because of that. But, other than that, it was actually a rather cute volume. I loved seeing the characters back together. I hope it continues into the next volume.

I devoured this one. Things are kind of going back to how they were at the beginning of the series, so I'm curious as to what storylines will be brought in.
