pickThis was my #BookSpin for January, and overall, it's a solid Pick. Though it's the last book in the Raven Cycle series, it's only a short story and is told from Opal's perspective. You would definitely need to have read the other books in the series to understand what is going on and why. Though I haven't read Call Down the Hawk yet, I imagine that this is a nice bridge between the 2 series. #ShelfLove #2025OffMyShelf

pickRarely can I call a novel informative, but in addition to an interesting plot and well drawn characters, this book provides lessons on ASL and Deaf history. Highly recommend.
Charlie is deaf but was deprived of ASL and told to rely on her (malfunctioning) CI. When her parents divorce, she finally starts at a deaf high school. Meanwhile, the headmistress of the school is dealing with cutbacks and a deaf mother with dementia. Austin, who comes ⬇️
pickYou guys this book was INCREDIBLE. This is the first supernatural YA I have read in quite some time and I completely devoured it in just a few days. I loved Vera and Max working together to save his mom and I almost wish this would turn into a short series. This was the perfect read to start spooky season off right!
