My #BookSpin and #DoubleSpin for January! I'm looking forward to both of them😁
Ughh Maggie stab me with a knife in the heart and just make me cry jeez. This was so beautiful, I love the way Maggie writes, everything is slow, and so painstakingly thought out. Opal is a beautiful character and I love her dearly and want to cradle in her in my arms. I love Ronan and Adams relationship even more, they are just beautiful. And I love Opals love for these two and their love for her, there is so much care and love in this.
So I read this in preparation for Call Down the Hawk. It's a great short story and a great bridge between The Raven Cycle and the new Dreamer Trilogy. Definitely worth a read if you are as invested in Ronan and Adam as I am.
There was only one possible choice for today‘s short story.
This short story bridges the gap between The Raven King and her new book, Call Down The Hawk. It is an interesting look inside Opal's life outside the dream world Ronan had created. It raises a few questions that I expect will be answered in the new book. Will Patten read it flawlessly as usual.
This was just a short little story between the raven cycle books and CDTH but it gave a lot of details and background story building!
Just re-read this short story that takes place after the Raven Cycle in anticipation of the Dreamer Trilogy! Book 1, Call Down the Hawk, is out next week!
Reading this little novella today! So sad to be finished the series....but also incredibly excited for Call Down The Hawk this November!
Also, who else ADORES Opal?! 💕
Today‘s #colormepretty is #favoritecolor! Mine‘s #blue.
I would die for Opal. End of story.
Allegiant was super disappointing and one of the very few books I have ever dnfed. I‘m glad I did so when I did, because the ending would‘ve made me very angry.
I think I already posted about the Infinite Sea, but there it is again! Oops.
Okay, I love Opal and I will protect her with my life.
It's December Stats time!
I had an odd month with few books logged at the beginning, when I was travelling, and rather more counted once I got home and had easier access to both non-X-Men comics and private, comfortable reading spots.
No 5-star books, alas, but I read "Opal" on the plane home and it was exactly what I wanted. (Unpopular opinion: I also consider it WAY too short to count on my reading list.)
It was fun to see the world from Opal's point of view. She reminds me a bit of Merricat from We Have Always Lived In the Castle. I loved her take on Ronan and Adam—knowing them from the other books, I could see much more in their interactions than she did, but she saw things I did not.
It was so awesome to be back in the world of the Raven Boys for a short while. Plus I was also really happy to get Opals thoughts of the new world she was living in with a splash of Ronan and Adam intertwined with her story.
I need more!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This little short story was so adorable! Such a happy-sad read. I now want to reread The Raven Cycle and seriously can‘t wait for the dreamer series!!
Ahh why only 50 pages!! On the bright side I look forward to the next series because so much can happen next after Opal!! 😁
💙 this. It was a great look into what Ronan and Adam have been up to since the end of The Raven King, and getting it through the POV of one of Ronan‘s dream creations was entertaining. It also sets up some plot points for the next series of books. I can‘t wait for that.
This was a much wanted but too short jaunt back into the Raven Boys world. I loved Opal even more in this than I did in the original series. Her perspective and personality made me wish I had one of her of my own. I'm so attached to these characters and cannot wait for the new series!
Not fantastic but very sweet and a gentle reminder of a series I loved ♥️
Loved this series so this little snippet is hopefully going to be great!
This came out at the perfect time - I just recently finished the Raven King! Fun short story from the Orphan Girl‘s perspective taking place just after the end of the series. It left me wanting more, but in itself was an excellent story from her point of view and in her distinct voice. I have new love for Opal as a character now 💕
Loved this short story about Opal! Glimpse into Ronan, Adam. Realized how much I've missed the Raven Cycle books. Can't wait for the new book!
Thought this was cute.
"...also by cows that were always lying down but never being dead. (Sometimes she climbed on their wide, warm backs and pretended she was riding into battle..."
“These were the rules.”
This story was such a treat to hold us over until the first Ronan book. My Ronan and Adam-loving heart is happy.

It was a tease. I love this world!
I need more!
YESSSS! I love this novella so much! I bought this and devoured it. Takes place after The Raven King and is told from Opal‘s POV. It‘s just her perspective on living in the farmhouse after The Raven King, hanging out with Ronan and Adam, exploring the barns and forest, and her general thoughts.
LOVED the scenes from the summer with Ronan and Adam. Adam is my favorite character so I‘ll always take more scenes with him. His story is the best 🙌🏻
Just bought Maggie‘s new Raven Cycle story on Kindle, and the newest Lumberjanes
I love being sucked into this world!
Opal is an adorable novella thaking place after the events covered in The Raven King, the last book of the Raven Cycle quartet.
The novella is narrated by Opal herself, a.k.a. Little Orphan Girl. She gives us a peek at her life post-Cabeswater, living at the Ranch with Ronan, and witnessing his efforts to work on a specific dream-project, as well as snippets of his relationship with Adam.
Just a morsel, 58 pages! But enjoyable.
Ok, Opal is out and everything needs to go into suspended animation or something because I am reading this RIGHT.NOW. #theravencycle #trcobsessed
😍🤩😍
