Well my #readtheunitedstates challenge is coming along nicely. I only need to read books set in Utah, Wyoming, Montana, and Virginia. I can probably make this happen before the end of the year if I focus.

Reynosa8701 Cafe con lychee for Virginia I‘m listening to it now 2y
Reynosa8701 Under the banner of heaven I believe is set in Utah 2y
KristiAhlers @Reynosa8701 oh thanks for the recommendations! I‘ll go look at those! 2y

A Million Junes | Emily Henry

Panpan

This was borderline Pan/So-So. The first half was lighter on the magical realism and focused a bit more on the relationships June had with her BFF Hannah, who I loved, and her crush, Saul, who also happens to be the son of her family's arch-nemesis family. Did I mention this is a Romeo & Juliet retelling? Admittedly, I am not a huge fan of magical realism & this was a glaring example of why. A few details/reasonings didn't come full circle ⬇️

Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick leaving me with questions. Other parts were a little too neat, telling me instead of showing me. If this was my first book by Emily Henry, I'd say it was also my last. However, I loved People We Meet on Vacation so I'll give her contemporary romances a second chance to WOW me.

behudd Book Lovers is definitely worth a read, it‘s great! I‘ve never read her early stuff, but it does seem pretty different from her 3 most recent books. 2y
TheAromaofBooks I honestly thought that this author and the one who wrote the romcoms were two different people (with the same name) because the books seem so different! 2y
