Just started. I never knew there were more Dragon Rider books until I saw it here on Litsy. Probably because my kids are now grown.

A decent fantasy animal series. The characters and settings were nice but not all that memorable. The protagonist, Star, was too perfect though, and his relationship with MorningLeaf wasn‘t satisfactorily resolved in my opinion. But I still don‘t pan it because the story interested me enough to keep reading and it‘s clearly written for younger readers. A lot of people compare this series to Warriors, but it‘s more like Wings of Fire. #Horses
This was much better than I was expecting it to be. Likely written for ages 12 to 14 it doesn't talk down to the intended audience. It had a really engaging story line. It does have both a happy ending and a cliffhanger. Fortunately I have book 2 already waiting in the wings. (Pun intended.) And yes, I did buy them because of the covers.

DNF‘d I tried to get to 50% and maybe I will try again someday. There is a lot of talk about death and I just can‘t right now. The story of a Pegasus named Star who can‘t fly and his friends. He is bullied a lot and told by the head of his herd he is going to die on his first birthday. Obviously, I know he won‘t, there is a war, and a lot of characters some of which are killed off.
