Noise: A Flaw in Human Judgment | Daniel Kahneman, Cass R Sunstein, Olivier Sibony

How to identify better judges:

"Three things matter. Judgements are both less noisy and less biased when those who make them are well trained, are more intelligent, and have the right cognitive style....good judgements depend on what you know, how well you think, and how you think. Good judges tend to be experienced and smart, but they also tend to be actively open-minded & willing to learn from new information."

A really practical starting point if your company is using EOS. If not then it makes a really good case for why businesses should be using EOS. I enjoyed the main points not getting bogged down in jargon. Not a long read and sets you up well for the next phase.

I really enjoy the way Lucy Knisley's nonfiction comics are told. Her work is reflective and engaging. This book in particular is captivating as she reflects on different aspects of her life to pinpoint where her love of culinary experiences came from. I love the illustrated recipes throughout too and now really wish she had a graphic novel cookbook out. #comics #nonfiction #food

🌀 this book opened doors that I‘m still learning how to walk-through. & for that, I know I‘ll be returning to it‘s pages later on in life. I feel it reaching toward me, but there are pieces I know I‘ll understand more deeply with time and experience. #nonfiction #audiobook #feminism #naturalitsy #reading #booklover #bibliophile #uncommon

This is a fun, short listen for someone who finds microbes fascinating! I had hoped there would be more about the human microbiome, but it‘s about all different kinds of microbes in the world around us. I would also be interested to see the illustrations that go with this #nonfiction book for middle grade readers.

🎧 Audio duration: 1 hour 57 minutes

* I received this #MiddleGrade #audiobook through the #Librofm Educator #ALC program.

It‘s okay to fall into an unproductive flow sometimes, but our habits do shape us.
The cool thing is, we get to choose which habits we reinforce.

I started reading this years ago and never got past the first couple chapters. I can‘t wait to dig into again and learn something new. This months #2025nfbookchallenge choice is Bird by Bird by Anne Lamont.

I‘m also doing a study on the book of Romans with my youngest daughter. It makes me happy to see her digging into scripture by choice. I opted to study along with her so that we could discuss.

Andrew65 Love the DCI Banks books. 2w
kspenmoll @Andrew65 I am trying to read this series in order- sometimes one right after another, sometimes with a break in between. I am having fun with all the music & literary references. 2w
Andrew65 @kspenmoll Definitely liked his music in those books. (edited) 2w
