Thanks @sisilia for tagging me.And for taking my recommendation to read Bookworm by Lucy Mangan! Isn‘t it fantastic? #MyFirstBook was this Golden Books gem, I think the supermarket were running a “Free Golden Book with purchase”so we had Saggy Baggy Elephant,Scuffy The Tugboat,The Tawny Scrawny Lion,Tootle,The Little Red Caboose,Mickey Mouses Picnic & so many more.The Poky Little Puppy was the first book I ever read all by myself at 4yrs old.

The Wonderful Worlds of Walt Disney | Walt Disney Productions

A gift for my 7th birthday. Not #MyFirstBook but the first ones that I actually remember. My mother bought them a couple months before my birthday and hid them. I was snooping around where I shouldn‘t ... I couldn‘t tell that I found them, and so I was reading whenever I thought that I was safe ... until my mom discovered me. Even today, after all these years, I can feel my childhood excitement when I see these books.

Ladybird Well-Loved Tales Rumpelstiltskin | Vera Southgate, Ladybird Books Staff

#Myfirstbook (s) were most probably these Ladybird fairy tales stories because they‘re the ones I remember till today and make me feel nostalgic. I don‘t recall any other books earlier than these. We don‘t have picture books as we were never read to when we were very young. Wish I still keep some of these as remembrance. ❣️

Lcsmcat I‘m having trouble getting past “we were never read to when we were very young.” I can‘t imagine a childhood where I wasn‘t read to! It makes me want to come to you with a huge armload of books and just read and read and read to you! 6y

quietlycuriouskate I had the "Three Billy Goats Gruff" and "The Princess and the Pea". We weren't read to, either. Mum never picked up a book after leaving school and dad was always reading his library books. He did take us to the library with him though so, once I'd learnt to read, there was no stopping me! 6y

Rosie's Walk: with audio recording | Pat Hutchins

I don‘t think this was my first book, but it is the first book I remember loving! Rosie‘s Walk doesn‘t have many words so the librarian at the public library made up her own story to read out loud with the illustrations and it was so interesting! Imagine my surprise when my mom didn‘t read it the same way!! Nevertheless I loved this book and borrowed it from the library many times! #myfirstbook
