Mehso-so

I‘m not the target audience for this book which is a middle grade. I like middle grade books but I didn‘t enjoy this one as much as I would liked. The story was too long and confusing but this is an unpopular opinion. Most people like this series. I don‘t think I will continue with it. I liked Mini, so funny. This book I think is great to introduce children with Hindu mythology and folklore. 3⭐️

TheAromaofBooks Love this cover, though!! 2y
Kar2b This one feel flat for me too, and I love her YA books. I wanted to like it so much, but 🤷🏻‍♀️ 2y

WHAT A TREASURE!!!! Chinese and Korean heritages are highlighted in this story set during the western expansion of US. Very rare. I know of only Laurence Yep for middle grade, but Park wanted to confront the absence and hatred of other cultures in the Little House books. #TeachEmpathyThroughLiterature #MiddleGradeMay @megnews

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Kimberly Brubaker Bradley has a knack for bringing children‘s voices to life and make you feel like characters are real people. This is such an important book on a very important topic.

#middlegrademay

After sitting on my tbr for 15 years I finally read this one yesterday! Don‘t know what took me so long as this was a well done book about friendship, art and history. At times it felt more adult than a mg should, but that didn‘t bother me at all.

EvieBee This sounds great! 3y

This weekend is turning out to be way more busy than I planned, but I‘m finally making time for some #MiddleGradeMay reading while I knit before bed.

I finished this last night, putting me ahead for next months buddy read. I don‘t always love big, epic, fantasy adventures in mg books, I can get bored, but I did enjoy this one. Sir Tode was a lovable character that will stay with me.

megnews I am so excited to read this! Can‘t wait! 3y
mrp27 @megnews It wasn‘t what I was expecting at all but I enjoyed it. 3y

I‘m excited about the #MiddleGradeMay readathon this weekend! I‘ll be reading from the above choices—or maybe some others depending on my mood. 😁

I like the idea of reading the three across the bottom…with a midnight & magic theme! Especially because Midnight Magic is my May #DoubleSpin. Door in the Wall may help me to a #BookSpinBingo, though, and Akata Woman will need to go back to the library soon, so I‘ll just see where my reading takes me!

SpeculativeFemale I absolutely LOVED Akata Woman. One of my favorites of what I've read so far this year, for sure. 3y
