I want to take the time to let everyone know that I am a huge science fiction lover. I love anything sci-fi. I have enjoyed many classics like Drowned World as well as movies such as Interstellar and Alien Romulus, and even videogames like Stray. I am longtime Trekkie and Star Wars fan and out of every single sci-fi story and character I have enjoyed. This franchise is by far the best science fiction story I have ever had the pleasure of enjoying.

Murderbot #4. This was going to be her last, but luckily for all of us she kept going! I really enjoyed how Wells wrapped up this book. The whole series is exceptional, a high powered action packed adventure that covers for a deep look of what is it to be human. Murderbot is an amazing character who I love spending time with.

dabbe What is that yummy-looking thing you're about to eat? 🤩 1w
ChaoticMissAdventures @dabbe oh my god a dream. It is a White Chocolate Strawberry Yuzu Cake from this amazing cafe in Portland Oregon that is an Asian-French fusion patisserie 😍 1w

This installment is quite vulnerable and emotional compared with the earlier books. It has Murderbot connecting (reluctantly) more with its human side, which is interesting.

julesG Would you say Murderbot has matured? Or softened? Based on its previous adventures with the "gang" and ART. 2w
ImperfectCJ @julesG Matured for sure (especially compared with Three), but maybe softened, too. 2w

Kitty-enforced downtime: It's very important to Silo that I take time on a Saturday morning to read and drink some coffee while we listen to the birds through the open window.

A little partying before bed. I risk disturbing my sleep hitting the Pellegrino so close to bedtime, but sometimes you just have to live it up.

Oops! I finished this one the other day and forgot to review it! This is the first novel-length installment of the series, and the pacing definitely feels more novel-like. I found the interwoven additional storyline a little confusing (although I get why it's there), but I really like the relationships and the bizarre sci-fi elements.

Jari-chan Cat = SecUnit - perfect in so many ways 😸 3w
julesG @Jari-chan ?? you're right. I quoted from Murderbot when my cat was giving me The Look after sniffing at her food bowl. I said "I take the obscene gesture as given." and my son heard it and started laughing (he's a big Murderbot fan, too). 3w
Jari-chan @julesG This is awesome! 😂 3w

starlight97 I love this series! 3w
ImperfectCJ @starlight97 My elder kid recommended the series to me ages ago, and I finally started it, and now I'm all-in. I used Murderbot as a metaphor for my personal story arc in an acting class the other day, and only one other person in the class had heard of Murderbot (which meant not only that I had to explain the metaphor more than expected, but I also had to explain that "murder" wasn't actually part of my personal story arc). 3w

First day of school bathroom selfie. Classes started yesterday (the ones I'm taking, not the ones I'm teaching), and while they promise to be fun and the good kind of challenging, they are already cutting into my quality time with Murderbot.

Hmm...I'm not sure if I'm just reading these too fast, but this one seems less substantial to me than the previous books in the series. I still like it, and there are some laugh-out-loud parts that I quite enjoy, it just feels like it's missing something. On to the next one, I guess.

Trucking right along with this series. It feels like bingeing a TV series and also like it should be one big book instead of a bunch of short ones. I love the commentary Wells is making about what makes someone "human" (despite the misuse of "laid" as the past tense of "lie" (i.e., without a direct object) twice in this book...one of my pet peeves).

julesG I love the Murderbot stories. I'm always happy when I come across a review here on Litsy. As for the grammar, sure it wasn't "laid" as past tense of "lay"? 1mo
ImperfectCJ @julesG Yep, I'm sure. Both times it was in the context of, "I laid down in my bunk," which in the present tense should be, "I lie down..." 1mo
ImperfectCJ @julesG A copy editor at Tor just needs to review the forms of lie/lay :-) 1mo
julesG 😬 And transitive and intransitive verbs. 1mo
