Okay friends, I've created another Canva document, this one with bonus #ISpyBingo boards!! These boards each have a theme and are 4x4. These are “optional“ boards (as opposed to the monthly boards, which of course are REQUIRED OR ELSE 😂) I will post the link, and I'm also going to go ahead and upload each board onto Litsy next, but I am not going to tag everyone on every board - you can just look and see them at your leisure. I managed to come ⬇

rockpools These are such fun! If I read nothing else next year, I‘m determined to read a book with a scarecrow on the front! (Preferably from the adults section of the library - kids would be way too easy). I also appreciate you for making them optional!! Thank you ☺️ (edited) 12h

TheAromaofBooks @BarbaraBB - I am definitely going to get the main monthly prompts on Storygraph, and will try to add the optional boards as optional prompts haha I am slowly getting them added in. I love SG but their challenge set-up is a little clunky 😂 4h

TheAromaofBooks @OriginalCyn620 - I can't wait to see them!! I found a grid and uploaded it and then just use that inside the graphic. I added a text box inside each grid square, which is a little tedious, but after that I just copy the page and change the background/text but don't have to worry about recreating all those text boxes!! 4h

Hanukkah Moon | Deborah Da Costa

I spotted a menorah on the cover and grabbed this for #ISpyBingo, not noticing at the time what an unusual menorah it is. This is a delightful multicultural story about a girl visiting her aunt Luisa, who comes from Mexico. Isobel not only learns some new Sephardic Hanukkah customs, but also about her aunt's creativity and love for animals and nature. I would have loved to read this to my kid when she was little.

TheAromaofBooks I tried to mix in some new prompts, shuffle some prompts into different months, and move them all around 😂 But there will definitely be lots of repeats from last year because I do NOT have the creativity to come up with 300 new prompts every year haha 1w

And/or prompts for them? I thought about categories or doing them by genre and you can only use a book from that genre to check the prompt? So the crime board can only be cleared with mystery/thrillers. But is that too limiting? 1w

Lauredhel @TheAromaofBooks just here to vote against specific-genre cards! One thing I love about this challenge is that you are free to use books from any genre. (Mainly just don't make me read a whole card of crime books, or worse, Literary) 1w

OriginalCyn620 I do like the idea of genre cards. For example, I read mostly mystery/thriller and romance, so I‘d concentrate on those two mostly. But all genres are possible boards - fantasy, horror, science fiction, nonfiction, etc., so there can be a potential genre specific board for everyone, no matter they like to read! And they‘re bonus boards so it should be low pressure anyway! Also, you can make those smaller - 3x3 or 4x4 1w

OriginalCyn620 Other ideas: 1) animal theme with domestic, wild, and exotic animals 2) Around the World - settings or authors from various countries (maybe represent all 7 continents) 3) foodie board - certain foods on the cover, cooking plays a central part of the plot, or an MC is a chef, etc 4) an I Spy about the actual books themselves - Deckled edges, signed editions, painted edges, special editions, book that was gifted to you, built in bookmark, etc 1w

LiseWorks I love the Genra idea, even if it takes a year to clear the board. What about a series board. I read a lot of series books. A prompt, and it belongs to a series. 1w

willaful I like all the ideas. I can ignore the genres I don't read much. (I feel you about literary @Lauredhel ! 😆 )

I was thinking of Down on the Farm with things like farm animals, tractors, vegetables, etc. Birthday Bash with things like cake, balloons, confetti, etc. On the Road with things like different kinds of vehicles and landmarks. More ideas than I probably can wrestle into usability 😂 1w
