This is about 12 year old Willow Chance: genius, adoptee, orphan. A weird and wonderful kid dealing with grief.

This year I switched from teaching JH English & Math to JH & HS math, but I‘ve kept my class library as most of the books are mine personally. So, I‘m trying something a little different to promote a few books each month on a particular topic. This was my August display as we started the new year.

willaful Oh, I wish I'd known about these when my math girl was younger! 3mo

This was a wonderful book about found family, alongside adoption and grief. Willow is a unique and gifted twelve year old girl, and I loved her story.

TheBookHippie I love this book. It‘s part of the Montessori curriculum here in our public school. (edited) 7mo

My 7th graders read this with another teacher and told me it was a great book, so I borrowed it from her to read now that school‘s out. I‘m thoroughly enjoying it, even with the heartbreaking moments.

1. My quirks are that I don‘t think I have any quirks.
🤣

1. I love self checkout because I can bag my groceries the way I want. Before I would either ask them if I could bag my own groceries or rebag them after paying. I'm very particular about it, my family knows to just let me bag everything.
2. I make lists for everything.
3. I will quote tv shows/movies during conversations if something in the convo reminds me of a quote.

Mimi28 3) My mom and I do that also 🙂it makes most people laugh 😂 11mo
Susanita Number 1 is my husband all the time! 😃 11mo
dabbe #1: My hubby does this! 🤩
#2: I do, too, but then I hardly ever do anything with them. Is that another quirk? 🤪
#3: 😂

Book2 CH4

“Lise made a solemn face. ‘Katerina Ivanovna has sent this to you through me,‘ she said, handing him a small letter. ‘She particularly asks you to visit her, but soon, soon, and you mustn‘t disappoint her but go and see her without fail.‘”

#MatryoshkaBros

Ruthiella If that‘s Lise‘s solemn face, I‘m a little worried. 😆 I was wondering if you would attempt the bath chair as a prop. Nice work! 👍 11mo
Aimeesue @Ruthiella Thank goodness I had teeny tiny rubber bands! Getting those quarters to stick to the chair was quite a job! 😂 11mo
Aimeesue Also, the big drawback to Little People is that they don‘t have ARMS to give letters to monks!! 11mo

dabbe In all seriousness, this has GOT TO be made into a book. It's #genius!!! 🤩🤩🤩 11mo
Aimeesue @dabbe I was clearly heavily influenced by my childhood puppet storybooks. I vividly remember the Grosset & Dunlap The Little Red Hen and Jack & the Beanstalk. http://thetrashcollector.com/bookschildrens3Dbooks.html (edited) 11mo
IndoorDame You are bringing back fabulous memories of a college roommate who was a stop motion animation artist. During finals week I‘d wake in the night to see her filming scenes with puppets and sets she‘d made with mini spotlights on the floor of the dim dorm room. The best was Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead. 11mo
dabbe @Aimeesue 🤩🤩🤩 11mo
Aimeesue @IndoorDame As someone who grew up watching the Rankin/Bass stop motion Rudolph, Frosty, etc., I now appreciate exactly how much work goes into it! R&G are Dead would be an excellent watch! 11mo
