Sadly, I have to bail on this one. It was really hard for me to get into. So instead of keeping it for another week, I decided to send it back to its owner.

#LMPBC #Round17 I just mailed out the final book for #GroupV and the 3rd book for #GroupA Still eager to read Hood Feminism once it arrives (no pressure! Reading is meant for RELAXATION!). I‘ll read it whenever it arrives, so no worries whatsoever!
I found this to be an intriguing, deeply contemplative literary work. What struck me most about it was its ability to encapsulate the multifaceted nature of relationships. Through the narrator's encounters with friends, lovers, & acquaintances, the book offers profound insights into the intricacies of human connections. It reminded me of the various people who have passed through my own life, leaving indelible marks & shaping my journey. 4.5/5⭐
Letting my team know that I received the next book. I am really looking forward to reading this one!

This was definitely not a light read. I had to take each chapter day-by-day. I can't even begin to formulate my thoughts and feelings on all of the information but all I can say is this is a must read.
There will be parts that will make you feel very uncomfortable but I think it's still important to understand that not all feminism is created equally.

5/5⭐️ What a beautiful historical fiction novel! An indigenous mother & daughter are caught in the turmoil of the 1600s French/English colonization of Algonquin territory. Told from 2 POVs, each woman expresses their hopes and dreams while struggling to navigate the demands of the Catholic Church and their own desire for autonomy. Beautiful and haunting, I will not forget Marie and Jeanne‘s love for each other and their hopes for the future.
This was a quick read but full of heart. I loved the main character and the people around her. Though Restrepo touched on the topic of immigration, she also mentioned racism, gang initiation, and losing faith in God. I give this 4 ⭐️.
