The Hatching: A Novel | Ezekiel Boone
post image

I thought I might take advantage of the bright bright sunlight to read the most terrifying book on my pile, The Hatching. I don't know what possessed me to buy this, I have intense arachnophobia, so I may be flinging this across the room then jump up & down on it whilst screaming Nope nope nopity nope nope nope so we'll see. Spiders. Urghh. #deweysreadathon #readathon #frightfulreads

LauraBrook Major props for even attempting this, I've got arachnophobia too, and I won't even walk past it in a bookstore! Nope nope nopity nope for me! 8y
ScarletQuill Even this picture is making me itchy. Ugh. Spiders. Good luck! 8y
Dragon Yup nope - no spiders 🕷 8y

Bird Box: A Novel | Josh Malerman

Pickpick

I realised I hadn't posted my review of Bird Box yet, so here goes. This book was about the horrors that you don't see, that bump in the night that may be a tree branch.. or something else. Something hungry. Is it more terrifying to see the monsters or to imagine them? This is about a group of survivors who have to learn to live in a world gone dark, where in the end the only option is putting out your own eyes.👀 5⭐️ #readathon #frightfulreads

BibliophileMomma A great read! 8y
Lizpixie @Tiffness83 it was brilliant! The sense of menace, and the fact they couldn't see them was horrifying. 8y
