The Stranger in the Lifeboat is a must-read novel that was much darker than I had anticipated. It got me pondering the nature of humanity, perseverance, and trust. Next up is Ordinary Human Failings. I don‘t know much about this book, but the title alone made a connection for me.

I‘m always up for a good conspiracy theory. Titanic or Olympic almost had me believing that these two ships were swapped. Scratch that. I bought it hook, line, and sinker. Either way, get me onto a lifeboat ASAP which brings me to The Stranger in the Lifeboat by fellow-Detroiter, Mitch Albom.

I just finished Sisters of Fortune by Anna Lee Huber -- a contemporary romance that takes place on The Titanic. This got me wondering, “Which ship really sank?” Leaving me wanting to read Titanic or Olympic: Which Ship Sank?: The Truth Behind the Conspiracy by Steve Hall, Bruce Beveridge, Art Braunschweiger. I wonder where that will lead me. Stay tuned ...

rubyslippersreads Both books sound interesting, and reminded me that I read a mildly interesting novel involving the “switch theory.” (edited) 8mo
suvata @rubyslippersreads Sounds interesting as well. 8mo

This is so cool to give a BOOK as the Happy Meal toy!

#PemberLittens

LeahBergen You can choose a little book or a toy for Happy Meals here in Canada. It‘s so cute. 8mo
CrowCAH @LeahBergen I‘m a bit jealous. I don‘t think the States have that choice. But then again I don‘t eat at McDonald‘s often, so I wouldn‘t know. 8mo

This probably isn‘t a fair rating, it is well written and researched, but I started skimming because I knew most of the information & reliving it made me want to delete all my social media accounts and throw my smartphone into the sea.

Pickpick

This was a fascinating read. Lots of research, insight into famous cases and less loud ones. I thought I was pretty well informed, but there is so much underneath it all. “Algorithm has no moral compass”.
But ultimately it‘s a story of tremendous greed. And we are living it. This is a must read

Can I count this as horror because the content is pretty scary? 😱

Did every page, paragraph, sentence or word make me angry? Yes. Pretty much rage read this one.

I waited a long time for my library hold to come in. As soon as I finished, I bought multiple copies to distribute. Libraries definitely generate book sales.

Tamra I‘m almost afraid to know…..🫣 1y
RebL @Tamra Big picture—every chance to make it right, modern day robber barons chose profit instead. Everything old is new again. 1y
Tamra @RebL ugh - the capitalist way 1y
