4/5⭐️

One March #bookspin down; one more to go.

If I‘m in a reading slump, I usually go to an old favorite, like the tagged or a favorite genre (cozy mystery or golden age mystery). With any luck, one of the two will kick things back in for me.

Great question @BookmarkTavern I enjoyed seeing the different ways readers deal with a slump.

#SundayFunday on Monday (again 🙄).

BookmarkTavern This is a great one to revisit! Thanks for sharing! 💕 2mo

Can you believe it's my first time reading The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe? The audiobook was simply delightful. With my background knowledge, the allegory was unmistakable. But, I truly think this story would capture the heart of every child and adult alike.

Ruthiella Read The Magician‘s Nephew too. It‘s delightful tells us how Narnia came to be. 5mo

The religious allegories were a little bit more toned down in this one, but it still suffers from antagonists lacking any real motivation.

what kills me is sentences like “Battles are ugly when women fight“ as if women haven't been serving in the military alongside men. Men feeling like women beat them at anything (including war) is a whole different can of worms and has been around for longer than this book.

Doppoetry I also find it ironic that Lewis is so anti-school when he's gone to one of the most prestigious colleges, is a scholar, and is well respected at that. I don't doubt teachers can be terrible to students, especially back in the day, but come on. 5mo

This is a great story to get children lost in their imagination as well as help them to understand that camaraderie between friends can take on any challenge
