Early voting is open in NJ, and mail in drop boxes are plentiful. Here‘s your reminder to vote - I know we aren‘t the only ones with an important election this Tuesday.

And you may call me petty, but I argue I‘m consistent. If you voted to make America great again, you own what‘s happening in DC right now. You own the shutdown, you own what‘s happening to benefits and healthcare. Sit with that and do not engage with me. Sit in your bigotry.

Can't wait to read this one. Lawyer Joyce Vance (Civil Discourse on Substack) is amazing. Not able to get to a rally today but supporting all who are with a pic from my last one and the Oregon wines I've been toasting with this week. ¡Salad! #NoKings #Democracy

This book is a reminder of the things you should hold dear. The things that truly COULD make us great, or at least could reinvest in real patriotism. It is an expanded listicle of 20 “lessons“ from the twentieth century. If you feel you lack courage to resist, throw this tiny book in your bag and take it out and reread it as you wait for the bus.
Make eye contact and small talk (#12).
Start somewhere.

A little all-over-the-place, but then again, so am I.

Deblovestoread All of this! And thanks for posting the actions list. With all that‘s thrown at us it would be near impossible to not be all over the place but we will do it together. 3mo

lil1inblue @Deblovestoread You're welcome! IRL, I often hear people talk about how they aren't able to protest for myriad reasons. But protesting comes in more forms than marching with a sign! 3mo

This book was published in 2017 as a direct response to and rebuke of 🍊1. Now we‘re here again but it‘s even worse, making this book more relevant still. The key is: if enough of us fight against this crap, we‘ll protect our democracy. So, please read it and whatever way you choose, STAND FAST AND FIGHT!

Overall, this was a very interesting and informative book. Some parts could be a little dry, but quite a bit still provided interesting commentary. It was also interesting in presenting an outsider's perspective on American culture, government, and society. Overall, would recommend.
