TheAromaofBooks LOL I literally had someone else tag me in a review of this same audiobook this morning!! She loved it so hopefully you do as well!! 😂 4y
Cinfhen It‘s DELIGHTFUL and Scarlet Johansson is AMAZING @TheAromaofBooks and it‘s under 3 hours 😜😜 (edited) 4y
Reviewsbylola I read this one in print years ago and wasn‘t that impressed. It‘s a weird book. 😂 I bet the audio is cool tho! 4y

Pickpick

Somehow this novel still seems very relevant 50+ years after its first publication. I believe that speaks to the truth of the story & writing. Told through a male perspective, we get a glimpse of a 1950‘s marriage that is fracturing. Behind the beautiful suburban facades of pastel homes live ugly secrets. I really enjoyed both print and audio. #Classics2020 #BookClubWorthy

Megabooks I think I‘ve decided to do the single best book of nonfiction and fiction of each month, but I still have to get my sh!t together! 4y
Cinfhen Oh wow!! That seems like a lot of work to sort through @Megabooks but I‘m sure the final list will be fabulous 💖💖💖 4y
Megabooks Just posted, and yes because I‘m at 330+ books and counting!! 4y
Reviewsbylola I read this one years ago and remember liking it. 4y

I finally got to one of the rereads I‘ve been planning for #classics2020. This one got pushed to the front because I figured it was a good fit for #eccentricMC for #booked2020

I didn‘t love this one as much as the first time I read it but it‘s still my favorite Wharton. I felt like this time I appreciated Ellen Olenska more, and that ending—idk why but it just gets me every time!

TrishB That‘s a lovely copy ❤️ 4y
Reviewsbylola I love word clouds! Reasonably priced, soft covers, and beautiful endpapers. @TrishB 4y

Cinfhen TBH #BookDepository credited me on July 15 when the book still hadn‘t shown up @Prairiegirl_reading so I was shocked and pleasantly surprised 4y
Cinfhen I know this book has mixed reviews but I‘m looking forward to reading it @Megabooks @TrishB @AmyG 4y
Prairiegirl_reading @Cinfhen nice!! I‘m one of those people who orders books on-line and then compulsively checks my account to see where my books are! Lol! 4y
AmyG Fyi- I found the second half to be much better than the first. So if you are discouraged- keep reading. 4y
Cinfhen Good to know/ thanks @AmyG 💗 4y
Cinfhen Because of corona I‘ve been extra patient @Prairiegirl_reading but after 8 weeks I had given up 😬 4y

I‘m a day late for #bookreport

I decided to do a roundup for the first half of 2020. What a wild ride its been.

I hit 50% of my Goodreads goal yesterday, so a few days later than I would have liked, but such is life.

I‘m over halfway through my goal of 24 classics this year. I‘ve read 12 on my own and an additional 3 with my kids, for a total of 15 classics. #classics2020. I‘m listing my top three classics I‘ve read in 2020 above.

britt_brooke 👏🏻 I was planning on one classic per month, but have fallen behind. 😩 I need to get to Stoner finally. 4y
Reviewsbylola To be fair, many of my choices have been made for me—I haven‘t gotten to many of the classics I actually intended to read for the challenge. Rereads of Jane Austen, Thomas Hardy, and quite a few others. @britt_brooke 4y
Cinfhen Wait.... Stoner is a classic???? Oh yay!!! I read that book in May or June and I read BFG is that a classic??? Because then I‘m back on track 😁 4y

Cinfhen Congrats on reaching 100 🎉🥳🎉🥳🎉🥳🎉that‘s fabulous 4y
Cinfhen I should do a breakdown of my book tally....I probably have more audiobooks than physical books 4y
Reviewsbylola I mean, it can be a classic if you want. I agree, it feels iffy to count it but oh well! @Cinfhen 4y
Reviewsbylola The Roald Dahl book The BFG is def a classic! @Cinfhen 4y
Cinfhen Thanks, Steph ....I‘ll count it ...it WILL be a classic and it feels like a classic and the cover looks like a classic 🤓#IfADuckWaddles 😉 (edited) 4y
LeahBergen I‘ve had A Lady of Quality sitting on my shelves for ages. I should get to it! 4y
BarbaraBB Wow, great job! And Stoner is so good! 4y
britt_brooke @Cinfhen So good to hear! Moving it up in the ol‘ TBR. 4y

I loved this audio narration. Jeremy Irons was perfect. Such beautiful writing for such a horrible story. I found myself comparing him to Hannibal Lector. While my attention waned at the end overall a great novel. I understand why it's a classic. #classics #classics2020

Alice looks how I feel after finally finishing this book! I have to say, I didn't love it. While I enjoyed some of the character story lines I found most of the writing tedious and slightly rambling. I can appreciate it as a classic but not one of my favourites. #classics2020 #catsoflitsy #lesmiserables #readlesmis2020
