#WinterReadathonDailyChallenge Todays prompt was #ChristmasDecorations and I was gonna go with some tree baubles, but my fave Xmas decorations were the blowups & lights on my house in 2018. We had moving carousels, seesaws, presents that opened up with pop up polar bears, Santa in a dunny, a bikie Santa, a pig in a Santa hat, a TRex, a hot air balloon on the carport, waving Santa on the roof & an exploding star above the verandah. Among others!

Lizpixie @EadieB it‘s mostly inflatable so it folds down pretty small so we‘d store them in large tubs in a backyard shed. 2y

#WinterReadathonDailyChallenge #ChristmasDecorations as they‘re described in Little Women always reminded me of holidays growing up Jewish. There are a few minor holidays that included physical decorations (sometimes including Hanukkah) but religious holidays (like Christmas was for far more people in the time of this book) were mostly marked by big feasts and fancy tables. @Andrew65 @DieAReader @GHABI4ROSES

MoonWitch94 @IndoorDame I grew up Catholic (no longer practicing that‘s for sure) and I always thought that my Jewish friends were celebrating their holidays in a much better fashion: less pomp & circumstance, but actually focusing on the traditions & meanings of the holidays with family & friends. I always admired & was drawn to it. 💙 Happy Hanukkah, btw! (If you‘re celebrating) 2y

IndoorDame @MoonWitch94 Thank you 🙏! I dip in and out of the traditions these days, but I‘m planning to do something to mark the holiday this week. I think Judaism is pretty varied, like any religion, but there is definitely a lot of focus on tradition and family running through all the denominations. 2y

TheBookHippie The foodie in me❤️ it‘s interesting my kids always say holidays by the food we eat. My friends as well about me, there is a warmth to it. Simplicity of looking forward to latkes and cinnamon bread pudding, homemade applesauce made with redhots. I think simple is so much better, must be the hippie in me. The thing most looked forward to here are the poems I write for each person for Christmas Eve. ❤️✍🏼📝 2y
