#pemberlittens #thewatsonsreadalong #chapter20 Mrs. Blake comes to visit. She is sweet and compassionate and agrees to write Emma a governess recommendation. Margaret returns home with some juicy gossip. Everyone thinks Mr. Howard and Lady Osborne are lovers because she saw them embrace at night! 🙄 Margaret visited 6 houses before returning home and told them all. Mr. Tomlinson gives a sermon proclaiming the evils of Mr. Howard and Lady👇👇

MicrobeMom Osborne. Emma finds him despicable but is depressed and feels used. She is anxiously awaiting the letter from her aunt. 2y
BarkingMadRead I just can‘t believe that Mr Howard would do something so out of character! I hope I‘m right! Poor Emma! 2y
julieclair Ugh. Margaret. Going out of her way to spread malicious gossip. And I agree with @BarkingMadRun , this is so out of character for Mr. Howard. I refuse to believe it. 2y

1 day late #chapter20 #pemberlittens #wanderingthroughwutheringheights So, Nelly brings whiny sad Linton to WH. Here we find that H only wants him because he is E‘s heir. He wants to make sure he stays alive enough so he inherits the grange. He is disgusted by Linton‘s weak demeanor and resemblance to his mother, but he will care for him properly. That is if her doesn‘t die of anxiety first.

Crinoline_Laphroaig Heathcliff is despicable in this Chapter. 3y

#pemberlittens #chapteraday #chapter20 this chapter, though very short, has one of my favorite moments. I love the relationship Elizabeth has with Mr. Bennet. When Mrs. Bennet (probably with good intent) threatens never to speak to Elizabeth again if she doesn‘t marry Mr.Collins, Mr. Bennet has her back in the most Mr. Bennet way possible.

No #chapter20 so this is #page20.
"Though his first home in eastern Connecticut was now a center of seditious activity, Arnold could hardly have picked a better city to find radical politics, full of Enlightenment hallmarks like newspapers, coffeehouses, and an educated population." (city was New Haven) Always ☕️☕️☕️☕️!!

My book doesn't have a #Chapter20, so here's the table of contents. I'm about to start 'Best Quality'. I wanted to read something outside of my usual go-to genres (SF&F) to get over my epic fantasy #bookhangover, so I picked a book from my tbr list that I've been meaning to reread for about a year. I forgot how good it is! It's my bedtime read and I've been losing sleep because I can't put it down! #AutumnReads #Reread #J #LitsyAtoZ

tricours Which series gave you your hangover? 7y
TK-421 I just finished binge-reading all 3 series in the Thomas Covenant Chronicles. It was great! But I'm not ready to commit to immersing myself in a different fictional universe just yet. 7y
[DELETED] 3803335244 I read this in college years ago, just bought a copy this year to re-read. (edited) 7y

I did not mean to get to #chapter20 when I started this book tonight, a testament to how compelling it is.

On chapter 14 of my current read. If this doesn't get any better by #chapter20 it's going to become my #latestbail.

LibrarianRyan Oh damn. That's on my TBR. 7y
mrp27 It might just be my mood. Perhaps I'm experiencing YA overkill. Too many books like this for me recently. 7y

I went looking for something fun in some #chapter20 somewhere...and found this amusing moment from The Interestings. I really enjoyed this book. #autumnreads

I needed an audio book to listen to while I knit my friend a blanket for her soon-to-be-born baby & this happened to become available on overdrive. Currently on #chapter20 and still not sure what I think about it 🤔 I am happy to be listening rather than reading though as the different narrators make it slightly easier to follow. Jury's still out on this one....

BkClubCare Op. Cit.! Once I figured that out, the audio was a LOT easier! 😂 7y
emilyhaldi @BkClubCare omg THANK YOU for posting that- I literally had no idea what they were saying. Kept wishing I had a hard copy around so I could look it up 😂 7y
cathysaid So pretty! What kind of yarn? #knittersoflitsy 7y
Reviewsbylola Love it! 7y
BkClubCare @emilyhaldi - yep. Which is exactly what I did about 1/3 in. I found a print copy and flipped through it to get the style. And then started it at the beginning and all was successful. It's art, really. He's done lit art. 7y
BkClubCare Oh, what also helped me was seeing the list of narrators of each character so that I could stop trying to figure it out. Helped a lot to stop the distracting thoughts. 7y
britt_brooke I didn't listen to the audio, but I didn't care for it in print. The weird style takes away from the story too much. I know I'm in the minority. 7y
Luv2readbookz I'm listening to it as well and have the same thoughts. I'm wondering if it's worth it to continue or bail. 7y
[DELETED] 3803335244 Beautiful colors! 7y
