Getting my stack of books together for April and it's about a half a cat high. It's way too ambitious given I don't read that many physical books any more. We'll see though. I do have spring break and lighter nights coming up. I'll tag the books in the comments because I also have a bunch of audiobooks and kindle books I want to get to too. Oh and a trip to the library today to pick up some more holds...

3.5⭐️

I enjoy reading history because I love to learn things. In Keith Lowe's Naples 1944: The Paradise at War, Lowe takes us on a journey of Naples during WWII when the Allies first land there. His book covers the years 1943-1946.

I have a problem when I read history books. I always end up going down the rabbit hole. This time was no different. I was never taught in school about the Allies landing there, or I don't remember it.
⬇️

MonicaLoves2Read I remember learning about Normandy and the rest of France, the Netherlands, and of course, when they made it to Germany. I like it when a writer of history writes in a way that you feel what the people went through, and Lowe does this well. If you like history or WWII history, specifically, I think you would enjoy this book. The main reason is because Lowe tells about a little known town affected by the war and the Allies. Not that Naples is little. It's just not talked about much what the town and people went through during this time.

Thanks to Netgalley, Saint Martins Press, and Keith Lowe for the E-ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I'm beginning to think this might be how my #BookSpinBingo card looks to close out the month. I've been struggling to read much and I don't think forcing myself to read these specific books is a good idea, though I've been certainly trying to bully myself. MADE myself sit down and read something not on the card today, and y'know, that went perfectly well.

Sigh. Brains, right?

Quick and satisfying romance…. Not ashamed to say I finished it, tears falling from my eyes while on a very full flight earlier today. And on a less important but still fun note, this gave me #bingo for #bookspinbingo, the cover crossed a lot of boxes for this year so far in #ISpyBingo, and I got one more February #wickedword - ballroom!

TheAromaofBooks Woohoo!! I was so behind on this one that I ended up reading it all in one go because once I got caught up the momentum was too strong to stop 😂 I am NOT confident in my ability to stick with the 3-a-day pace for the next book... it just came in at the library for me today and I'm already thinking about picking it up!!! 2d
OriginalCyn620 @TheAromaofBooks I totally get it! I really want to go ahead and tear into book 3 too. 🤣 1d
StayCurious @OriginalCyn620 @TheAromaofBooks I may have finished book 2 as well! The third one should be good! 1d
