Just got to my parents house (we've all been incredibly careful and taken precautions to make this happen, for anyone concerned) and saw that my #BestOf2020Swap was waiting for me! Already thoroughly sniffed by the doggo who thinks all things belong to her. so-soI love the illustrations in this book, but it just didn‘t wow me, even after reading it twice.
pickI seem to have a thing for collage-y picture books at the moment, and this one definitely fits the bill - love the pictures! The text is an super-enthusiastic (and repetitive) lead-up to a birthday - what season will it be, what will we eat, who shall I invite...? I imagine it‘d be great fun to read aloud for the first 10 times...
