I loved the perspective of a 102 year old doctor who‘s focused on treating the whole person. Here, she focuses on what matters most in life, essentially how to be happy/content even when facing challenges like grief, illness, the breakdown of a marriage (drags her ex husband and I‘m here for it). I listened to the audio which featured a few clips from Gladys. The main problem for me was the “heal your cancerous tumor by fasting” vibes. Like what?

I had never heard of this Seuss book but I saw it in my LFL. It was cute, I picked it up for an older (83) relative.

Very keen to read this but it took a bit of perseverance. The characters all seemed self involved and critical of each other, hardly friendly... But I did stick with it and enjoyed the overall story.

Adele (a broke &once successful actress),Wendy (an intellectual & once acclaimed writer)&Jude (a former restaurant manager) gather at Sylvie‘s beach home to clean out the house so that Sylvie‘s daughter can sell it. Sylvies‘s death impacts their relationship in ways none of them could have anticipated.They all deal with grief, aging & other losses differently. Wonderfully relatable, beautifully written. My parent have come into town to celebrate the holidays and my mom gave me this adorable book gnome! She comes with little books and even a book worm! I can‘t wait to find the perfect little spot for her ones we take down all the Christmas decorations !

Interesting. A bit of a scary topic as it makes clear that we are woefully unprepared, at the present time, to deal with the results of expanding life expectancy.
