I've wanted to read this book since I first fell in love with Russian lit in high school. But it's still #aclassicihaventread. My husband even got me this beautiful book and I dust it off every month and then put it back because I just can't commit the time it will take. #bookishproblems

@RealLifeReading

Tsubame This one of the classics I'm actually afraid of 😅 But the posts on Litsy about it give me hope that even I can read it one day... 8y
cathysaid Yep. Me, too. It seems this is #aclassicyouhaventread for many of us. Maybe we should have a reading challenge for it next year! 🤔 8y
SusanInTiburon I made it my New Year's Resolution last January. Totally worthwhile. Love this edition, too, with its helpful table of names right up front and notes in the back. 8y

angrylilasian @Tsubame it is so intimidating! We can do it and from what everyone has said, it'll be worth it. 😄 8y
angrylilasian @cathysaid Great idea! 8y
angrylilasian @SusanInTiburon I love that too. The names always confuse me! 🙃🙂 8y

#day5 I think this is on lots of people's TBR list. Some day I'll tackle this mammoth beast! If Charlie Brown can do it, so can I! 🙃 #aclassicihaventread #seasonsreadings2016 #peanutsmovie #leostoystore

KnjiskiZmaj Good thing you put this post! It's on my tbr list for sooo long! I think I'm gonna tackle it soon 😆 8y
Books_Wine_Repeat @LordAntonio90 Me too! Maybe it'll be my New Year's resolution to finally read this monster. 😬📖🎊 8y

Here's a quick shot of some of the classics I have yet to read. I know I love Dumas, Hemingway, and Steinbeck but I have yet to read Brontë or Austen (guy bias??) #aclassicihaventread #abitembarrassed #seasonsreadings2016 #classiclit

I know there are many classics I haven't read but this is one I actually do want to. I just know I have to read Hemingway. #AClassicIHaventRead #SeasonsReadings2016

Little Women | Louisa May Alcott

I'm so ashamed to admit it because I LOVE the movie, but this is #aclassicIhaventread. 😳My friends and I even used to play Little Women at recess in elementary school (I was Jo, obvs). I really do need to remedy this! Maybe if my copy didn't have such an ugly cover... #seasonsreadings2016

celtichik I'm reading this right now as my "for Christmas" read. 8y
DebinHawaii I don't do it every year but it is a great holiday time read for sure! 🎄📚❤️ 8y
SarahRotenberry My book club is reading this for our holiday read as well. I'm enjoying it so much. It really "goes with you" whether you read it as a child, young adult or parent of teens, and beyond, I'm sure. I guess that's why it's a "classic" ?? 8y

raelaschoenherr @celtichik @DebinHawaii @SarahRotenberry Even though it takes place over years, it totally feels like a Christmas story! Fun that you all read it for festive reasons :) Glad to be reminded it's worth it! 8y
Reviewsbylola Yeah that cover is not good!! I haven't read this as an adult so I am thinking maybe this is a good serial title to add to my list! 8y
thec0zy You're not alone!! I love the movie too, and I've never read the book either 😳 8y
raelaschoenherr @thec0zy Yay! Glad I'm not alone! 😉 8y

East of Eden | John Steinbeck

Steinbeck is my all-time favorite author but I haven't read East of Eden yet. There's something wonderful about knowing that whenever I do pick this one up, it will be for the very first time -- this is what keeps me from being in a hurry to read it. (I wish I could read his other books again for the first time!)

#aclassicihaventread #seasonsreadings2016

OneLitChick I haven't read it either... and I'm so excited to! 8y
BooksForEmpathy Oh man. It's SO good. One of my favorites. 8y

Cspen113 I loved it. Great book! 8y
AmyG I am jealous you get to read it for the first time. 8y
Scerakor That one is on my list too, I have the same copy sitting in my bookcase 8y
8leagueboot My favorite book of all time, next to The Hobbit. Enjoy enjoy enjoy! 8y
JennaRoot I have the same copy and I think the length intimidates me! I might have to get the ebook from the library to trick myself into reading it. 8y

#seasonsreadings2016 #aclassicIhaventread Just. Can't. Do. It. With a degree in Russian, I probably should have fit it in there somewhere but it's forever on the TBR 📚. P.S. I swear I bought it in this condition.

I watched the movie with Keira Knightley when it first came out and I fell in love with the fashion and customs of the era however I disliked the movie itself very much. At that moment I knew the book just had to be better to have stood the test of time and of course I bought it...and it's been sitting on my shelf ever since.

@RealLifeReading

BooksTeasAndBookishThings Awww I hate you didn't love the movie, I thought Joe Wright did such a beautiful job with his depiction. Any time he and Keira do a movie together, I will be the first in line. I have loved them all so far. But, the book is still better 🙌 I hope when you do read it that you love it ❤️ 8y
JoRead @BooksTeasAndBookishThings perhaps if I had read the book I could have followed the movie better. I don't understand why the director chose to set the story in a theater. When I first watch it I thought that was how the story was written! 😂😂 8y
BooksTeasAndBookishThings Haha 😂 no, not a play, but I really did love his take on it. I think my favourite part was the dance that then turned to fireworks. That and the way he captured the farming, that was very true to the book. After you have read it, and you watch again, let me know if you like 😉 8y
JoRead I loved the waltz! My grandma always talked about waltzes and dresses in a way that sounded magical. The ballroom scenes reminded me of her stories 😍 8y

#aclassicihaventread is Don Quixote. It's one of my goals next in 2017. 2017 is to be my #YearofLAN aka my year of long-ass novels. 🤓🙃😋 #seasonsreadings2016

Shortstack That's been on my own! 8y
OrangeMooseReads It is worth the read if for nothing more than a #litbrag I recommend taking it in 2 parts. 8y
