I‘m a bit late to the party on this. I spent the entire weekend fighting the flu. I finished 52 books in Apple Books last year. #2023 #endofyear #applebooks #ebooks #audiobooks #abookaweek

This book tells the story of 12 very different people-mostly women, mostly black. They‘re also mothers, sisters, daughters, friends and colleagues. As the story progress they may be more connected than first believed.
Beautifully written with hardly any punctuations that gives the story a certain flow.
I think this is a story that will stay with me.
My 8th book from the Booker Longlist and my 4th for #ABookAWeek hosted by @TheReadingMermaid
I finished this on Sunday, but needed time to let it sink, because that ENDING.
In the 1st part we meet Saul Adler in 1988. He‘s hit by a car as he crosses the road, but he gets up and continue his day and future plans as nothing happened. In the 2nd part there‘s a time jump to 2016, and Saul‘s been in another car accident (?) and everything you thought you knew from the 1st part, are questioned.
A book about family, siblings and the truth
This book was exactly what I needed, fast paced and intriguing characters.
“Ayoola summons me with these words-Korede, I killed him.
I had hoped I would never hear those words again.”
With a beginning that like that, it‘s impossible not to get hooked on the story.
It‘s about family dynamics and sisters, and consequences from physical abuse.
My 6th book from the Booker Longlist and my 2nd for #ABookAWeek hosted by @TheReadingMermaid
Algeciras 2018, two old gangsters, Charlie and Maurice, are sitting on a bench at the boat terminal, waiting on the boat from Tangier. They‘re waiting on Maurice‘s daughter, Dilly, to show up. Dilly‘s been missing for 3 yrs, and they‘ve heard rumors that she‘ll show up on this terminal. As Charlie and Maurice are waiting, they start thinking about the past and how they made it to this moment.
My 5th book from the Booker Longlist.
bought mini gold mine today. Started with “The Memory Bible” by Gary Small. It seems a fascinating read so far. I‘m challenging myself to read a book a week. Would definitely be looking for tips from ya‘ll on how to read more.

I really enjoyed this book. It‘s a fictionalized version of Andrew Wyeth‘s most famous work. Great character development throughout. Would highly recommend for those of you who liked her Orphan Train. #abookaweek. #3
This was a wonderful true crime book. If you are at all interested in the Golden State Killer case, this is a must read. The back story is that her husband and partner pieced this book together with the editor, after the author died. 4⭐️. Reminds me how I miss a true crime book! #abookaweek #2
After a few really heavy books, I need a different type of book. I started this last evening. I know I‘m late to read this, but I‘m glad it‘s helped capture this monster. #abookaweek #2
#abookaweek. #TwoinThree #3. Just starting this for a book club!
