This was much more violent than the usual cozy mysteries we read for our work book club, but it wasn‘t bad. It‘s frigid here this weekend so good timing for reading about Greenland.

For anyone lost in The Twighlight Zone betwixtmas, today is THURSDAY😅🫣
Isn't that right? @TheBookHippie @Bookwormjillk 🤣
Nope just nope. Second time I gave this author a chance and was disappointed again. Couldn't finish it. Stories made no sense at all.

Enjoy!
I really want to like Stephen Graham Jones but so far I haven‘t been impressed. This is a book of short horror stories. It started out pretty good and I enjoyed the first few stories. Then it went downhill and I really didn‘t like the last few stories. I was disappointed.
Mx. Justin Vivian Bond is one of the recipients of the 2024 MacArthur Fellowship (i.e. Genius Grant). I first became aware of Bond from the movie Shortbus. The song is slightly NSFW (suggestive lyrics). The movie is extremely NSFW, but beautiful.

A slow burn that is worth persevering with because it is both heartbreaking and beautiful. It is based on real events - a part of history that I knew nothing about- the kidnap of over 400 people from Iceland by barbery pirates. The FMC was a real woman, with a real story that has been fictionalised, but there are so many historical facts, that this is a powerful story ❣️
Bailing after the first chapter. It would have probably been cute as a web comic, but trying to stretch it into a full narrative story is just meh. Also, the scale and proportions seem inconsistent. And it is weird that the cats have human limbs and only sometimes wear clothes. I dunno, I'm not feeling this one.
