My #18in2018!
If the covers are too small to read, I'm glad to give titles and authors in the comments. :)
Also, everyone should read The Disturbed Girl's Dictionary.

Naj Some really interesting choices. So many of them are on my tbr. 6y
Bertha_Mason Thank you! I hope you enjoy the ones that are on your tbr :) 6y
Naj @Bertha_Mason I only saw your comment while randomly scrolling. You forgot to tag me in your reply! 6y

BooknerdsLife @Jee_HookedOnBookz Thank you Jee😘 Oh I hope you‘ll pick it up soon. It totally took me by surprise of how interesting and beautiful this book is. All the characters are simply mesmerising (some might be more annoying than others at times tho😅) But I‘m absolutely drawn by his writing style 6y

I have so many year-end & new year posts I haven‘t written yet! But here is my top #18in2018. It was so hard to narrow it down! There are a ton of runners-up I could also list, but I‘ll leave it at this and will probably do a few other posts highlighting favorites in certain genres. The tagged is definitely my biggest reading achievement this year—finally moving that 1200-page monster off the TBR! What were your 2018 favorites & big achievements?

StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego Excellent choices! 📚📚📚 6y
Gezemice Lots of great books there! My big achievement was War and Peace. 6y
BarbaraJean @StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego It was a great reading year! @Gezemice War and Peace is a fantastic achievement!! The digressions in Les Mis actually reminded me quite a bit of the essay-ish parts of War and Peace. How did you like it? 6y
See All 7 Comments
Gezemice @BarbaraJean I enjoyed the peace parts a lot, and the parts of war that focused on the soldiers. The strategy and philosophy parts were mildly interesting at first, but got really old fast, as he was long-winded and repeated himself. Finally I learned to recognize those sections and just skipped them. That way it was perfect! I read Les Mis a long time ago and remember skipping parts of it, too. 6y
BarbaraJean @Gezemice Haha—Yes!! I think I would have enjoyed War and Peace more if I‘d been able to skip/skim all the philosophical ramblings on the will of the masses. But I was reading it for a class, so I kind of had to pay attention! I loved Pierre, though—such a fantastic character!! 6y
Gezemice @BarbaraJean Oh, I am glad it was not for class, lol. Yes, Pierre was great! I also love Tolstoy‘s female characters - he pays attention and draws complex chatacters, unlike most of his collegues of the time. 6y
BarbaraJean @Gezemice “Unlike most of his colleagues of the time”—exactly! The female characters in Les Mis were underdeveloped to say the least, and often just plain problematic in their lack of depth or stereotypical roles/attitudes. Tolstoy‘s characterizations are wonderfully complex across the board. 6y

In 2018, I finished 121 books! Way higher than any year for me since I've started tracking my reading. I'm proud of myself. I completed the #booked2018 challenge and made a pretty good dent in the #ssdgmchallenge.

My #18in2018 are shown above. This was the year of amazing nonfiction for me- I can't choose between Columbine, Killers of the Flower Moon, The Indifferent Star Above, and I'll Be Gone in the Dark as my favorite for the year!

Cinfhen Fantastic year!!!! 6y
sprainedbrain You had a great year! 6y

Here's my #18in2018 picks!! I'm so glad to have found Litsy this year! 🤗 #blameitonlitsy

I'm not sure if I'll do any reading challenges this year, but I'm going to try to read more nonfiction and classics. And read the books I already own! 😁

Happy New Year everyone!! 😊📚📚🎉

shellleigh33 I need to read the books I already own to. That is one of my New Years resolutions for this year!! 6y
ashley_gilman I take it you‘ve already read Scythe... it‘s next on my list!! Did you totally love it? 6y

#18in2018

Most of these are #blameitonlitsy reads.

My absolute favorite fiction for the year is Swan Song. Robert McCammon is an incredible storyteller. After reading this, I bought several of his other books, which I plan to read in 2019.

My favorite non-fiction is Becoming. The writing is warm, welcoming, and inspirational.

The book that I feel is underrated and that everyone should read is River of Teeth. I mean it has hippos after all 😁

TrishB Swan Song and Becoming are in mine too 😁 6y
