What a fantastic mystery! I've enjoyed them all, but this is one of my favorites ⛵

I‘m glad I decided to pick up another Nancy Drew this month. This was a relaxing addition to the weekend, and neither of these were ones I remembered particularly well so it was especially fun to watch them play out. #Pantone2023 #AndreanToucan #20in4 @Clwojick @Andrew65
I always pick these up when I stumble across original versions (originals have 25 chapters, "updated" editions are edited down to 20). Frankly I've always preferred the adventures of Nancy and her friends Bess (the chubby one) and George (the "tomboy" - read: lesbian). Those Hardy Boys were just too damn smug.
It started off badly because Hannah made fried chicken for supper but Nancy & her dad got distracted talking about a new mystery & let the food get cold! I mean! Talk it over the fried chicken! 🍗 Anyway things get better from there as within hours Nancy & Bess are in danger & then Nancy is on a plane, then a ship, & then Bess & George are there & the shit hits the fan but it all ends well! Look at that scary woman on the cover! I love Nancy Drew.
Number 26 for #nancydrewchallenge done! The usual set of coincidences requiring suspension of disbelief, but still fun.
Nancy and her father help a friend solve two mysteries involving his clipper, with some assistance from Bess and George, of course! (And a cameo from the boys) Also, a nationally-wanted jewel thief factors in.
I believe my early impressions of #youngAmericans were formed by these books 😀 Though I think one of them on that boat is neither young nor a person 🤔 #SeptemBowie @Marchpane @Cinfhen
I collect Nancy Drew books--this one was my favorite as a kid. Carolyn Keene is a pseudonym, but hey, I'll take what I can get.
P. S. How much do I still love George?
(Also, the last character named Carolyn I came across was the MC in The Library at Mount Char, which was *terrifying*.) #riotgram #samename
There was no other thought than my 1950 edition of this book for today's prompt #endpapers #readjanuary
