Lust Lizard of Melancholy Cove
Lust Lizard of Melancholy Cove | Christopher Moore
The town psychiatrist has decided to switch everybody in Pine Cove, California, from their normal antidepressants to placebos, so naturallywell, to be accurate, artificiallybusiness is booming at the local blues bar. Trouble is, those lonely slide-guitar notes have also attracted a colossal sea beast named Steve with, shall we say, a thing for explosive oil tanker trucks. Suddenly, morose Pine Cove turns libidinous and is hit by a mysterious crime wave, and a beleaguered constable has to fight off his own gonzo appetites to find out what's wrong and what, if anything, to do about it.

4.6⭐️ this is book 2 of Christopher Moore‘s pine Cove trilogy. I‘ve got to say this one was funny as in the last, Aunt has provided me with my tagline of the year. However, this one does tend to be a little bit more crude and a touch less scary (if you can really caught any of these books scary) but still definitely worth the read.

All Christopher Moore books are #Bizarre! but wholly entertaining and this one might be the weirdest one I‘ve read so far 🤪

This book was equal parts embarassing and hilarious to read, read it as a teen.

Christopher Moore is an odd man and I love it. Lust Lizard is a great book and it was fun revisiting some of the characters from Practical Demonkeepng. Luckily, you don‘t have to read that one to follow the events of this book. Lust Lizard takes place ten years later and stands on its own with a cast of quirky characters you‘ll quickly fall in love with. I highly recommend this book.

SW-T Loved this one! 😊 4y
ckarosi326 It was fun! I so wanted to adopt Steve 😂 4y

#riotgrams #favoritetitle I can think of two, both discovered years ago while browsing in a bookstore by an author I had never heard of: the tagged book (#TheLustLizardOfMelancholyCove) and The Island of the Sequined Love Nun. Of course, I bought both and enjoyed Christopher Moore‘s zany humor.

BiblioLitten Hilarious titles 😀💞 6y

ReadZenRites Those titles are awesome! 😁 The Lust Lizards of Melancholy would make a great name for band, too.... but perhaps too similar to lounge lizards🤔 6y
Suet624 He always makes me laugh. 6y

This is enough! I just pulled this out of my purse... and I have NO idea why it was there. Where I got it. When I got it. Why I got it. No. Idea.
So I‘m done. With the exception of Dec #BOTM, Prime First, & Audible - all subscriptions paid for - NO MORE BOOKS for the rest of the year. NONE.
I mean it. I really do.

Beckys_Books Me, too - except for gifts. 🎅 7y
JoeStalksBeck Mmmhhhmmm🤨🤪 7y
Sweettartlaura Nope, @JoeStalksBeck this was my wake-up call, my rock-bottom. When I reached into my purse and found a book I knew NOTHING about, I felt like I was coming off a bender. Or like an old lady with sugar packets in my purse - why?!?!? I need to simmer down. Gifts are acceptable purchases, as are the subscriptions I‘ve paid for. Everything else is off limits. To me - you go ahead & buy for me, though 😉 (edited) 7y
JoeStalksBeck Lmao!!! That‘s hilarious! I buy in the name of all Littens! 🤘🏻 7y
DGRachel I had one of those moments earlier in the year with a Kindle preorder. The book came out, autodownloaded, and I couldn‘t remember ordering the book. I still don‘t know WHY I ordered it. 😔 7y

#WhereIRead for #riotgrams. Tauntaun loves to sit behind me on the couch. (That spot is permanently covered in cat hair!) When the sun is out we watch the birds at the bird feeder. The plant's name is Steve, named for the sea beast in Christopher Moore's book!

Sea.fisher01 Love this one! 8y

Ok, this is sort of a lizard/dragon mash-up, but this book is trippy as hell. Like pretty much every Christopher Moore book ever. I can't even begin to describe the plot. If you like absurdist fiction, this is your man. I ❤️ every book he's ever written. #herebedragons #photoadaynov16 🐲🐉
