When you stepped into Gene‘s Books on Sanibel Island, you knew it was something special. This picture is from their Facebook post today. Devastating 😞

1/3 of today‘s replenishments for my #BeachReads Display 😁👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻! Iiii‘m going to keep this display going for another month. 😆
Have you read any of these?!

Meh. I may read more of this series, then again...there are other books on my TBR patiently waiting to be read. Doc Ford investigates the apparent death of his friend and neighbor, Rafe Hollins. But was it Rafe who died, or someone else? Fairly good, except for the gratuitous sex involving Doc Ford and two women he barely knows.
A crazy little bookstore on Sanibel Island, Gene‘s, is a hoarder‘s dream and the books are priced to sell. The books wind through a main shop, little buildings, on a porch, in the bathroom...A couple little shacks say “adults only!” But not erotica as one might expect, the stacks of books are just too precarious for kids😳
Today‘s bookish moment: We visited a restaurant by the water with amazing food. Okay, but what‘s bookish about it? One of the owners is an author, so they have bookmarks and books available. I decided to look on GR, because I‘m skeptical like that. The books look as well-rated as the food. Might just dive in soon! #docford #sanibelisland #vacationfun
Having a great week on Sanibel Island. I'm getting a lot of reading time, but loving our beach time, which includes lots of birds. This egret has been hanging out with us.
I think I say this every other week, but I loooooooooove Sanibel Island. 🌴 And we're going in July!!

I haven't read this, and generally don't go for this genre, but I might pick it up just bc its set on Sanibel Island, which is one of the beaches I went to on a regular basis when I was a kid (it was nearby- I never knew it was special until I moved far away to NC). #SeasonsReadings2016 #SetOnAnIsland @RealLifeReading
I grew up in Fort Myers and I passionately love Sanibel Island; therefore I naturally love the Doc Ford books which are set on Sanibel Island. (Hoping the Gulf of Mexico counts as the sea.) #booksbythesea #somethingforsept #septphotochallenge
