This book has summoned me while it was on the shelves. Got this for less than a dollar and the stories were so amazing, especially the GRRM one. You can never go wrong with a George RR Martin story. This is actually, I presume, will be the Season 2 of House of the Dragon. So glad I found this gem!

This anthology definitely was a mix for me. I loved some of the stories, others were forgettable and some I almost bailed on 😬

Here‘s my review for the first book I finished reading this book. I had to carry this book over from last month because I didn‘t finish it. I read this book for #beatthebacklist and I‘m counting this book for the prompt “Anthology”.

Men go to battle. Woman wage war.

This book is a mixed bag. There are a few excellent stories in here from authors like Brandon Sanderson and Jim Butcher. There are also a few not worth reading. Pick and choose your short stories and don't feel bad about it.

Not much to say about this one. Looks like an interesting read.

3/5⭐️As you see, I liked some of the short stories a lot and others not at all! I didn't enjoy this anthology as much as their other one, "Rogues".

Thought I would give you all a taste of yesterday's Women's March in DC. It was unbelievable how many people were there. I saw several librarian signs but could not get my phone out fast enough.

got a lovely surprise when opening my library book. I don't know if it's meant to be character or costume design, but I like it

Jim Butcher, Bombshells

Its an interesting collection of stories but not a great one. Some stories were brilliant and wonderful but others annoyed me and I didn't finish one. Still, it would be hard to pick a single favorite. For me, it was worth the read for: Some Desperado; Raisa Stepanova; A Queen in Exile; Second Arabesque, Very Slowly; Hell Hath No Fury; Pronouncing Doom; and Lies My Mother Told Me.

Others were good too.

I really loved this book. I love books with strong female characters. All of the stories in this book are great but some are better than others. Not all of them have strong female leads. Some cover the consequences of actions by strong women. This sort of short story collection is also a nice way to get to know new writers.

The second story in this collection is HARROWING. I had to hit pause and have a Taylor Swift dance party to recover. But I really enjoyed the collection, even the scary ones.

listening to kickass ladies while running make marathon training a snap ? just the right amount of action and fun. Not to mention really smart and funny writing. I'd recommend the audiobook over reading just for the narrator of "Desparado" alone - deliciously punchy especially when she curses ?

Day 10: a book you haven't read. I just ran across this book at my fave bookstore a while back and it just sounded fun and amazing. No hapless damsels in distress from a bunch of different authors (including George R.R. Martin 🎉), and puts together stories from all genres too. Will let you know when I get around to it 🙈 #readingchallenge2016
