Seemingly nothing in this world daunts the young criminal mastermind Artemis Fowl. In the fairy world, however, there is a small thing that has gotten under his skin on more than one occasion: Opal Koboi. In The Last Guardian, the evil pixie is wreaking havoc yet again. This time his arch rival has reanimated dead fairy warriors who were buried in the grounds of Fowl Manor. Their spirits have possessed Artemis's little brothers, making his siblings even more annoying than usual. The warriors don't seem to realize that the battle they were fighting when they died is long over. Artemis has until sunrise to get the spirits to vacate his brothers and go back into the earth where they belong. Can he count on a certain LEPrecon fairy to join him in what could well be his last stand? New York Times best-selling author and comic genius Eoin Colfer will leave Artemis Fowl fans gasping up to the very end of this thrilling finale to the blockbuster series.

Pickpick

I‘ve never read this volume before—as it wasn‘t out (still isn‘t out) in my native language at the time I first picked up the series, and back then my English was, well... nonexistent. I‘m happy I‘ve got to finally experience all of the Artemis‘s story. It was an excellent ride overall, and the last book doesn‘t disappoint. As crazy as ever, funny, a bit dark, action-packed to the brim. Artemis, I‘ll miss you 💙

Mehso-so

Now that I'm done with the series, I've got to say that it didn't hold up for me. I found this final installment scattered and unsatisfying. I'll continue to appreciate the better installments on their own, but this isn't a series I'll completely read again.

UnRuLee When I was reading these as a kid, I stopped at the beginning of book six because I hate betrayal scenes and I could sense that one was coming. I‘m thinking I‘ll at least go back and reread books 1-5, but I may let it be after that. I love the first five books and I don‘t feel a great need for more! 4y
JoyBlue @UnRuLee 😎 Sounds like a plan! 4y
Daisey My nephew and I agree with you. We both really enjoyed the early books of the series. I finished the series, although I enjoyed them less as I went on, and he quit about half way through. 4y
JoyBlue @Daisey So sad for all of us! Oh, well. Are there other series (or singles) that you and your nephew like more/would recommend? 4y

Now reading the final book in the Artemis Fowl, book 7 was not so good, did not feel very connected to it but have high hopes for the finale.
