pickI read the bulk of this during March, which turned out to be a perfect read for Women's History Month!
While this is fantasy fiction, it draws from real-life women inequality issues across society, religious orders, and political structures.
When I first began this book, I expected a “Beauty and the Beast with gothic undertones“. This is more “medieval, cursed king finds his sorceress“.

Finally received my September Romantasy FairyLoot book. It's The Half King by Melissa Landers. Another purple book. I'm hoping we get some other colors for these special editions. As pretty as they are, they don't all have to be purple and blue!

I don't know why this began with such a terrible scene...perhaps to make readers worried for Blue (FMC Cerise's dog) once he is gifted to her by the king. I know I was freaked out worried for Blue throughout the whole book...
