You will enjoy the main character
Went to the library to return some books at lunch. Of course I also browsed and left with this. I need something for when I finish Into the Drowning Deep.

Now a switch to science fiction. This is my first Wesley Chu. #currentlyreading #sciencefiction
Delivered from Barnes & Nobel today. I had no idea I bought one of the signed copies and that also includes a deleted scene.
I don't often wish that a book could be made into a movie, but I truly want this book to be a movie so I can revel in a summer blockbuster with truly kickass female characters, a really diverse cast, and themes that are important to the real world. Since Hollywood is unlikely to give me what I want anytime soon, I'll just celebrate this book instead :D. Thanks to @AngryRobot for the ARC! Book drops Oct. 4.

My #bookishstats for September. Not as good as my August stats, but that's okay :). This is actually a more normal pattern for me tbh.
Finished Rise of Io today, and whoo, what a ride! It's the embodiment of my idea of the perfect summer blockbuster: fast-paced, action-packed, and with a great story built on solid themes so that it doesn't feel like a fluffy empty-headed piece at all :D. In the spirit of that blockbuster notion, I put together a #fancast of the major characters of the book. This is Part 1; Part 2 will be coming right up ;D.
Wesley Chu is a BOSS. Aliens living in human hosts and enlisting them as assets in their Alien War. Comes out in October, and if you like fun fast-paced sci-fi with a tough, snarky MC, then you want this book.

I just received my first ever (electronic) ARC! Woohoo~! Thank you very much to @AngryRobot for the privilege of reading Wesley Chu's upcoming novel a month ahead of release :D.
