@TieDyeDude #TuesdayTunes

I‘ve been binging the new Nada Surf album, “Moon Mirror,” since it came out Friday. It‘s so good! Here‘s how good it is: after one listen, I went online to see their tour schedule & bought tickets to see them in October.

Larkken Oh wow! I used to listen to them all the time. I‘m happy to hear they‘re still making music 🥰 2mo
CSeydel @Larkken Yay! 2mo

@Bookwomble 's post last week had me thinking of classic compilation albums I had growing up such as Now That's What I Call Music, Jock Jams, and 20th Century Masters. Soundtracks were a good source, too. But this week I want to honor AM Gold. We had a couple different years, but I specifically remember 1972. Do you remember this series? Do you have a favorite compilation album?

#tuesdaytunes

Megabooks I do have a favorite soundtrack, which is I guess a kind of compilation. From my high school years, and the amount of cruising I did to it, it‘s got to be Clueless. I do remember a lot of commercials around that time for different compilations - a surprising amount included something by Enya! 🤪 2mo
willaful My best friend when I was a teen had one called, IIRC, “Storytellers“ and it was all narrative pop songs. Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald, Harper Valley PTA, Ode to Billy Joel, that kind of thing. We liked it a lot. 2mo
TheSpineView I loved the soundtrack to the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie. In h.s. I was all about the soundtrack from Saturday Night Fever. Dating myself here. 😅 2mo

kelli7990 I like the Now That‘s What I Call Music CDs. I have a few Now CDs but I don‘t remember what numbers they are. There are so many that have been released. (edited) 2mo
bthegood I was in junior high when Grease came out - we loved those songs - glad to see high schools still performing the musical!! Thanks for the memory push today - put a smile on my face! 🙂 2mo
TheSpineView @TheBookHippie All great songs! My favorite is These Eyes. It is on one of my play lists. 2mo
dabbe @bthegood I would have never survived 8th grade junior high without GREASE ... “is the word, is the word that you heard ...“ 🤩 2mo
Kerrbearlib I do not remember that series. It sounds interesting! 2mo
CSeydel Cool memory! We didn‘t have this series growing up, but one that got a lot of play in my childhood was called “19 Hot Country Requests.” We had volume 1 and volume 3, for some reason, but not vol. 2.
