Did well on my walk to and from ballet this morning. Lots of craft stuff for the kids in my life from the Little Free Library. Followed by a spot of op shopping and I treated myself to a shroom burger and rose at Betty‘s Burgers. I was in shorts and a T-shirt today in the middle of winter. Bliss!
pickFinished this on audio yesterday. Drew narrates & is emotional, humorous, & dramatic throughout. A collection of memories from her life, they‘re not chronological. I enjoyed learning more about her life—I‘ve grown up with her & remember some of her wild years. This book is from 2015, so the chapters about her in-laws & husband at the time are a little outdated.
pick⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Not exactly a memoir, but a personal essay collection covering many pivotal life moments plus a few trivial ones. So, no full-on life story thus far, just random bits and pieces. I liked the organization, and mostly enjoyed Barrymore‘s audio narration, though sometimes she was a bit too theatrical for my taste.

I‘m about to sound really pretentious but it sounded like it was written by drew Barrymore bc the writing really was truly meh at best. Pretty much the definition of “nothing special” but still it was a quick read and I enjoyed it

pick🎧 Drew Barrymore has led a wild life. After ET she divorced herself from her mom. At the age of 14 she was living on her own without even knowing how to do Laundry.
She tells story after outlandish story. She randomly yells & screams throughout the book. A bit MANIC. She‘s comes across as an entitled idiot with no boundaries as it seems no one ever taught her discipline or organization. Some will find this charming.

pickI enjoyed it. Honestly didn‘t know much about her life until then. It‘s nice to get a peek behind the curtain I suppose. I enjoyed it over all.

Have you read any of these titles? Which was your favourite? If I were to pick just one as my favourite it would have to be Wildflower by Drew Barrymore because, well it's Drew Barrymore. I grew up watching her movies and just always adored her and having a chance to read about her life and everything she went through was a great experience!

Today I finished my 40th book of the year and I enjoyed this book way more than I thought I would. Every chapter is short and sweet and filled with Barrymore‘s playful storytelling. It covers all aspects of her life from her early years, her family life, some of the cool films she‘s made, and her work in Africa which I thought was so inspiring. #DrewBarrymore #Wildflower

I don‘t read tons of celebrity memoirs but I made it a point to read this one. I do love Barrymore and I knew she‘d have some awesome stories to tell!

panIt was difficult for me to make it through this book. Even though she wrote about some fairly dark topics, Drew maintained an obnoxiously cheerful voice throughout. To be honest, if you took her name off of it and changed a few details, I would have guessed it was written by a 15 yo girl.
so-soLike peeling away at an onion...moments of laughter and tears understanding the many layers of this child star, wife, and mom. The different seasons Drew talked about brought me to examine my own chapters and paths yet discovered.
Everyone wants to overthink and analyze and take all the fun out of it and freak out, but the truth is you pick door number one. You choose the great person in front of you and dont play the game of Lets Make a Deal...
It's ironic that we rush through being single as if its some disease or malady to get rid of or overcome...Why does no one tell us how important it is to enjoy being single snd being by yourself? That time us defining snd amazing and nothing to cure.
You have to seperate yourself from yourself. You have to realize that you are nothing and we are all everything.
Love is the one uniting, relatable thing in everyone's life. Its what we all want and struggle with and fight for.
...if you stay emotionally balanced and responsible in life you are able to have the real joy.

pickSuper quick read. I love Barrymore and I learned alot about her life. I didnt agree with everything she waa saying and there werent any profound statements but thats who she is and I enjoyed it. I also liked it wasnt written chronologically.
Finishing this one so Ill be fresh and ready for whatever I pick tomorrow!
Finished dinner, cleaned up, had dessert and now reading time by the fire & watching a Netflix movie.

so-soI really was excited to read this book because I love Drew Barrymore. Unfortunately, I didn‘t love it. I enjoyed learning more about her, but parts of this were really slow and repetitive and it didn‘t really flow for me. There were parts I liked - especially the chapter about Adam Sandler, but overall I just wasn‘t super interested in this. I didn‘t love the writing and found it to be a bit disjointed.
I started this one last night. So far so good. She‘s had such an interesting life and it‘s beautiful that she‘s ended up so happy.
pickA mostly light-hearted, non-linear memoir. I enjoyed Drew‘s stories, and hearing her read it on audio was fun - minus the moments of dramatic screaming & screeching. 🙉
pickWow today has been a day of #audiobooks and #steps I finished off Navigating Early during my walk to the post office. I wasn‘t quite ready to quit being active, but it started snowing (it is May, right? 🙄) so I decided to walk the halls of my apartment, and listen to the rest of Wildflower. 🌺 While doing flights of stairs, I seen this happy little deer outside. Being close to the lake, we see them often, but they always make me smile. 🦌
pickI enjoyed listening to Drew tell her story - unless she was screaming. That grated on my nerves but, other than that, I really liked this book.
