Good, full on action plot line. Based on the 12 people killed by the MC and trying to make amendments. Fast paced and intriguing.
Thanks Jenny ♥️

Gosh this was a compelling and exciting read. An ex IRA assassin is haunted by the ghosts of those he has killed, to obtain relief he sets out to obtain justice in the only way he can. I couldn't put it down and was totally absorbed.

I still can't remember if I listened to this one or Dead I Well May Be a decade ago, but I'm glad I picked it this week. Not only is it my 61st book for MountTBR2019, but it was excellent. Gerry Fegan is haunted by the ghosts of people he killed during The Troubles. His only hope for peace is to kill the men he worked for, who ordered the various murders, and those men won't go quietly either. #Screamathon 4 h 38 m done for #24B4Monday.

I need another audiobook for the work week, so I dug into my Audible backlog. This one appears to have a touch of the #supernatural, so it should work for #screamathon as well as #MountTBR.

"a flat-out terror trip" (James Ellroy)

Northern Ireland‘s Troubles may be over, but peace has not erased the crimes of the past. Gerry Fegan, a former paramilitary contract killer, is haunted by the ghosts of the twelve people he slaughtered. Every night, at the point of losing his mind, he drowns their screams in drink. But it‘s not enough. In order to appease the ghosts, Fegan is going to have to kill the men who gave him orders.

And last (but most definitely not the least) of my #BookMail came from another wonderful and kind member from our #LitsyGoesPostalOG group. I swear I am just in awe at all of their unending kindness and generosity. I love these ladies so very much ❤️ She sent a onesie for Winter with this amazing Shakespeare quote and a book I stacked to my TBR which I have been wanting! Thank you so much for your kind words and thoughtful gifts, @Ashley31

Clare-Dragonfly That's an AMAZING onesie! 7y

I feel like if I were in a different mood while reading this book that I would have liked it more. I just didn't care for it and actually skipped to the last couple chapters. I never do that. May try it again some other day.

I rarely use my kindle and got this book for a good price. One of the few times a book I want to read was way cheaper that the paperback!

A very good thriller, but not for the squeamish.

Dogearedcopy I listened to the audiobook (Gerard Doyle) and was absolutely mesmerized by the writing & performance! That scene with the dog fight still sticks in my mind (metaphor for "old Ireland" vs "new Ireland"?) ?? 7y
rabbitprincess @Dogearedcopy Ooh, the dog fight made for some hard reading. Had to read while squinting. It was a good book, though. Have you read any other Jack Lennon books? 7y

I'm ashamed to say that I grabbed both of these audiobooks nearly a decade ago, narrated by Gerard Doyle. I listened to one of them, but I cannot remember which one. 😳#BelfastChild #junetunz

Dogearedcopy Ooh! They are both soooo good! 'The Ghosts of Belfast' slightly edges out The Dead Trilogy; but both showcase Gerard Doyle at his best! ❤️🎧 7y

I spent a lot of time reorganizing my bookshelves recently, so I can't bring myself to tear them apart for pictures just yet. Instead, here are a few #irishauthors from my Audible collection. #marchintoreading

DeborahSmall Ghosts of Belfast looks good 💕💚 8y
DGRachel @DeborahSmall I'm ashamed to say I've listened to either Ghosts of Belfast or Dead I Well May Be, but I can't for the life of me remember which one! It was before I tracked reading audiobooks in Goodreads. I guess I'll just have to listen to them both again. How will I survive listening to Gerard Doyle for so long? 😂😂 (❤ his voice. *swoon) 8y
DeborahSmall I wish I could do audio!! My mind wanders, just something I can't do. I listened to one audio book when I was 18; The French Lieutenants Woman, I'd read twice by then too and I did enjoy it but tried another in my 20's but not for me x 8y

I *love* Irish Noir; and even better when Gerard Doyle is narrating it! He clearly revels in the darker material, and his performances for 'The Ghosts of Belfast' (by Stuart Neville) and The Dead Trilogy (by Adrian McKinty) are extraordinary. It must be noted that while there is graphic violence in both works I mentioned, there are also incredibly beautiful and artful passages bordering on lyricism 🇮🇪 (Cropped photo from Audiofile Magazine) 🎧

The quote has nothing to do with the book, but it's well acknowledged that most book lovers adore rainy days that are accompanied with coffee or tea! ☕🍵 Personally, I'm in a Mystery/Crime/Suspense/Thriller/Horror mood lately, hence the choice of this book. Happy reading to all of you! 👍📚

A gritty, dark tale. I can't stop thinking about the main character, even though he is a bad man, I feel sorry for him.

'The Ghosts of Belfast' (or 'The Twelve' in some places) is an Irish Noir story set in Belfast after the Good Friday Agreements have effectively ended 30 yrs of sectarian violence ("The Troubles".) An IRA hit man is haunted by ghosts of his victims... Powerful, brutal, graphic, and gorgeous writing underscored by the audiobook narration of Gerard Doyle who clearly relishes his role. #audiobookpantheon #recommendsday
