Didn't love this book and plot, taking advantage of students.. Multilple 1st person narratives was also complicated to read.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️5/5
Hard to read at times.
but the twist at the end had me shocked.
Really good psychological thriller!
This popcorn thriller was just what I needed, and I‘m so glad I went into it completely blind—no back cover reading, just a recommendation from a bookish bestie. The short chapters and multiple perspectives made this a lightning-fast read; I could barely keep up with how quickly I was flipping pages. Go into this one blind and just let yourself enjoy the ride. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5 for pure entertainment value! ❤️📚
Holy moly!! What a roller coaster and the last 100 pages were crazy!!! So twisty and I never saw that ending coming!!
What a great book! Did not see the ending coming. Definitely ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I knew this was a psychological thriller going in, but what a roller coaster. I stayed up late twice past midnight to finish, I just couldn‘t put it down! The last twist is nuts and I had to go back and read a few things to make sure I remembered how she described him, and damn it does pan out!!! Book #88 in 2024
Popcorn thriller, fast paced with super short chapters, perfect follow up to my last read which was slower paced. Plus, it‘s Labor Day weekend, just before the start of school here, which makes the timing of this read pretty perfect.
I am going into this one completely blind, except for the recommendation from a bookish bestie who loaned it to me. ❤️📚
So fun. Loved it.
At first it was just 3 terrible people being terrible, but it was v twisty & came together well.
BUT - I don‘t know what to make of that last twist. Really preposterous.
Very twisty and fast paced just as expected. I loved the final twist at the end that really just made me think differently. There were a couple issues I had with the overall outcome which is the only reason for not giving 5 stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I‘m not sure how I feel about this book. I was hooked until the very end, but it got too far fetched which was disappointing. 🫤
McFadden has once again delivered an unputdownable, gritty, twisty thriller. I always know when I start one of McFadden‘s titles I am in for one hell of a ride....

Shoes, shoes and more shoes…oh, and highly manipulative behavior with a hefty dash of “ew.” This book revolves around 2 female characters, one with mediocre poetry skills and the other with a rabid shoe fetish…and both have a complicated, questionable, icky relationship with one man. Good book to blow through while sitting outside, but the overuse of the word “pumps” will drive you to drink copious amounts of booze. Still a worthy read.
5✨ I recently read a book with a similar character trait as the teachers in this book, and I‘m not really a fan. However, the tension throughout the book kept me on the edge of seat and finding that I didn‘t want to put it down. Then the ending had me really impressed with the author for hiding a key detail all the way to the end that blew my already blown mind.
After reading this book, I can‘t decide which character was more evil. I started out feeling one way, and then another, and another, and so on. This story had so many twists and turns, more than most. This is the first book I‘ve read by this author. It won‘t be my last. Thrillers aren‘t my normal genre, but this psychological thriller drew me in from the start. I did the audio version. The narrator was excellent.
Gasped at the end! Don‘t always love her books, but this one had me turning the pages.
The very last twist. WHAT?!?!
My least favorite of Freida McFaddens so far, but still worth the read. It does annoy me that she makes a reval and then just ends the book. I need more explanation please.
So far, I've read The Housemaid, The Inmate, Never Lie, and this one. I'm really on a Freida kick right now. Really enjoying her writing and story telling.
3.5 ⭐️
This was too ick for me. I'm a substitute teacher for high school/jr high and this made me feel physically sick. A grown ass man who works with teenaged children needs to control himself or work in a different environment. Or both. Just no. I should never of even started reading this. ?? I suggest skipping this "psychological thriller" if you have any triggers around married adults in a position of power/trust going after teen girls.
Started last night and I‘m going to bail. My TBR is going to literally kill me when it topples, I don‘t have time for books that don‘t bring me joy
Freida has done it again, another twisty one that keeps you guessing, just when you think you‘ve got it, WRONG! Kept me engaged and Turing the pages, I kind of didn‘t want to finish it as I didn‘t want the ride to end.
This book was slow in the beginning but man does it pick up! I loved this book and I can‘t wait to read Inmate by her now. 👠
This was ok. Dark and twisty with several big surprises at the end that were . . . not that surprising. Maybe I‘ve read too many others where the characters felt more fully formed and less formulaic? Was a great listen, hard to put down, and I will try another of hers for sure. Just didn‘t blow me away. #BookspinBingo @TheAromaofBooks
Terrible. Predictable. Whiny. Not one character with any redeeming qualities.
I don‘t think I could get tired of Freida McFadden books. Quick reads that have you hooked from start to finish. The last twist is huge but brought about subtly that you really have to stop and think about it.
Freida McFadden knows how to twist up her stories in some satisfying knots that also make you cringe and peak out one eye! There certainly is an ick factor that goes along with this one but I loved watching it all unfold. And that final reveal hit me right between the eyes too! Good audiobook that you just want to keep listening to! 🌟🌟🌟🌟
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My first Freida McFadden. It‘s possible I have a new go-to palate-cleansing author. Skeevy characters enveloped in a disturbing, deceitful, and oddly funny story. Intentionally vague opening scene keeps you guessing. Pure brain candy.
You know I love my McFadden thrillers !! They‘re easy to soak up and provide so much entertainment. Plus her twists are chef‘s 💋 ! That being said, I don‘t feel like I take away much besides the entertainment value, which is fine. Not every book has to change your life. But for that reason, this gets 3.25 🌟
Unputdownable! Best twists ever! No one can be trusted!
Narration was top-notch! And that ending!!!!

Twisty as usual. Freida nailed the process of grooming, and she nailed the way a 16-year old would speak when she wrote as Addie. Something tells me this book might ring all too familiar to a lot of girls, who maybe didn't realize just how inappropriate those student/teacher/coach relationships were.Weinstein, Epstein, now this 90's Nickelodeon exposee...it's now a ubiquitous theme. I can't help but feel sorrow, though I know it's only fiction. ⬇️
A little Freida & a 'Rita at the end of a very long week! 📖📚
I've been on a thriller/suspense kick this week and I remembered a friend recommended this author so I gave it a shot. OH.EM.GEE. YALL. This author is a mastermind.🤯🤯
Adding her to my list of favorite authors. Needless to say, 5 stars! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Just tore through the audio version of this one. Whoa, what an ending!
"If I was a cat I would have peed on him." ?????
Pretty predictable thriller until the very end…….so fun! ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Wow, this book was insane! I'm the past, I have jumped in the McFadden bandwagon, but this book made me a believer! The characters were delectably hateable and it touched on some seriously intense issues tw: child abuse (don't want to spoil it), but it was done in such a way that it ended up satisfying. Definitely would be a good book club read. The twists in the end will give you whiplash and I loved the nod to Edgar A Poe. ⭐⭐⭐✨
