Jack (of the beanstalk fame) and his magical talking chicken, Betsy, have always been great at making new friends. But when Jack spots Anansi, the new kid in town, talking to a troll in the Deep Dark Woods, everything changes. ErinC @PutnamKatie someday I'll either talk my husband into it or I'll decide to get one despite his objections. Our first dog was a 120 lb golden retriever and he's hesitant to get one that big or bigger ever again. I love the giant cuddly ones though! 7y

I don't usually read children's books now that my kids are teenagers. This was a cute little story set in fairytale land. I think kids will enjoy it. It has trolls, magic and mermaids! I received a free copy from NetGalley.

Autumnscribe What age group would you say it was geared towards? Too much for a seven year old? Too young for a nine year old? 8y
