I love this series. However, I had a bit struggle because till the last 200 pages nothing really important happened and we only got just a tiny bit new information. Than everything happened in the same time. But I loved it and I cannot wait till the third part published.
Empire of the Damned was one of my most anticipated sequels but something about it just didn‘t hit right for me. I found myself loosing interest every twenty pages or so. I think this could have been shortened a lot to avoid those dead spaces. But nonetheless I kept reading because I love Gabriel as a character. He‘s so witty. But honestly, I‘m not sure if I will continue this series.
Just as good as the first book (maybe even a little better as I think the macho crap was dialed down a little bit?)… well-written and exciting, with characters you can‘t help but give a damn about. And proper scary, monstrous vampires. Yay!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2
A dark, thrilling and heartbreaking follow up to Empire of the Vampire (these are not standalones-you need to read book 1 first). For fans of grim dark and vampires and other assorted fantasy creatures. It did feel a little slow at times but still a great read. 4.5⭐️

Loved this book so much 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
In the second book in the Empire of the Vampire series, we meet back up with Gabriel and Crew still on their quest to end daysdeath ❤️
"A life without books is a life not lived, Dior. There's a magik like no other to be found in them. To open a book is to open a door—to another place, another time, another mind."
So true.
I loved it! Always sarcastic and funny, but never predictable. And he will kill everyone you love to make the story better.
'But don't ye see? We don't get broken. We're made broken. We are not whole alone. But if we're blessed, if we're brave, we might find those few whose edges fit against our own. Like pieces of the same puzzle or shards of the same shattered blade. Those people who, in their own broken way, make our broken edge complete.”
Blood soaked and action packed from start to finish with revelations and plot twists a plenty. New characters introduced and a welcome return to the old characters Again it's taken me a while to get through this, but well worth it. Highly recommend this series!
Book 3 HURRY UP!
Twatgoblin! 😂
Bk23 of my never-ending #BookMail is the Waterstones signed edition of the 2nd Empire of the Vampire book. Gabriel de Leon has saved the Holy Grail from death but his chance to end the endless night is lost. After turning his back on his silver saint brothers for good, Gabriel & the Grail set out to find how DaysDeath might finally be undone. Kristoffs writing is very dark & sarcastic but he tells a beautiful story.
Finished this and I have to say I‘m so happy that there‘s one more but I loved the twists in this … just when you think you can‘t be surprised… and I can‘t wait to read the final book when it comes out … hopefully later this year 🙌🏽
Needless to say that the writing captures you from the beginning but the illustrations are an added bonus to what your reading love this … then I find out that this is a 3 book series so this middle one is just right I can‘t wait to find out what happens in this book and hope that the 3rd in the series is out later this year 🙌🏽📖
LOVED this. I keep describing it as Anne Rice meets The Witcher. Unique worldbuilding, complicated characters, F bombs. It had a good recap of the previous book at the beginning (it was v memorable but A LOT happened) &the audio narration is excellent. 1 part dragged, but for the most part it was easy to get absorbed in & THAT ENDING was absolutely packed with action &drama. I cannot wait to see where this goes in book 3
A roller coaster bloody vampire/many other beasts epic tale! With a 😱 ending.
If you don‘t like blood, violence and a very liberal sprinkling of sex, it‘s probably not for you.
Sometimes I forget how great an author La work is until I either reread or read a new book everyone of Jay Kristoffs books has grabbed me from the beginning and I can‘t put it down love this about his books can‘t wait to continue this read 🙌🏽😊📖
Just over half way. There‘s some blood thirsty vampires in this!!!
I bought the audible version of EotD, and I decided to start it tonight. It starts off with the cast of characters and their backstory, I believe. It's been a while since I read EotV, though, and I feel completely lost. Is there somewhere I could find a good summary of vampires or the cast list in print? Any suggestions? I read vampires on my kindle, and now I'm wondering if the audio of this was a mistake if I'm lost already.
I'm so excited that this book is finally here! 🥳🎉🎉🎉 I absolutely LOVED Empire of the Vampire, so I'm really looking forward to the next book! ❤️
Had to run out and get this it‘s beautiful and I‘m so excited to start reading it 📖🙌🏽
This was a reread since Empire of the Damned comes out next month.
Set in a fantasy world where vampires are taking over, Gabriel, silver saint and last of his order has been captured is telling his tale to the vampires ❤️
