I really enjoyed the strength of the main character and felt connected to all the characters. I loved the mystery and anticipation. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is an enjoyable audiobook but it is true to formula- smart young woman meets deadly psychopath escapes with her life but others usually die - and she runs away and hides in a small town etc… The Witness is still my favourite but I enjoyed Identity. I also listened to Mind Games but the psychic gift element just didn‘t ring true. I snuck in a re-listen of All Systems Red so a busy three weeks. Summer listening 🙌🍧🥂
“Identity“ is an engrossing book that seamlessly combines mystery, suspense, and a captivating romance. With its compelling plot and well-developed characters like Nina and Morgan, this novel held me in its grip from start to finish....

I‘ve only read a few Nora Roberts, but I noticed the was real similar to The Obsession thematically & with how the FMC & love interest interact. There are enough differences but I can see the formula, but she writes 4 books a year I would imagine it would be impossible not to.
Anyway, home improvement inspo, traumatized but coping FMC, lovable side characters & found family are met by Vermont mountains, the FBI & drink recipes you can almost taste
4⭐ This was one of Nora Roberts more modern thrillers. It did involve serial killers and stolen identities. It wasn‘t a full-on romance, but romance was at its core, and did have a happily ever after. This book was a little long, but you usually expect that from Nora Roberts. I did thoroughly enjoy listening to this. It was a great way to pass the time while I was working on other things.

Murder mystery with romance. Good story, likable characters; a Robert's classic through and through.
This book had much more of a storyline & suspense than I was expecting. It was a pleasant surprise!
It was like enjoying two stories simultaneously. Morgan lives a quiet life until she crosses paths with the wrong man. She was his target and her will not rest until she's dead.
𝟒⭐Since she‘s well established as an Author…all I really want to say is this was an intriguing story that was well written, although, for me personally, I would say that it was rather over-written. I‘m not a fan of having so many inane aspects added to a story. Other than that it was a perfect blend of romantic suspense and a cozy atmosphere with some gory details thrown in to keep it from feeling too warm & fuzzy. The narration was terrific.
Well I started this audiobook thinking I was going to love it! Strong female lead, depraved and terrifying killer, what isn‘t there to love? Then the main character moved back home and it all fell apart for me. In comes the romance with a truly misogynistic love interest (he literally starts making decisions for her when they are barely dating, and when she complains he tells her to deal with it 🤬🤯) and a town where the police chief is best ⬇️
Wow! I just devoured this book in a couple of days. It had a slow start for me but man did it pick up after the first 100 pages! I couldn‘t put it down and I stayed up way past my bedtime last night reading it. I‘ve not read very many of Nora Roberts‘ romantic suspense novels but I‘m definitely looking forward to catching up.
Okay, last review for now. This is Roberts's latest book, and I actually really enjoyed it a lot. It's not groundbreaking or trend-setting, but if you've enjoyed her other recent books, you'll probably like this one as well. It's romantic suspense light on the suspense, as it's really more about Morgan choosing to put her life back together after tragedy. I loved the way that reestablishing a relationship with her mom and grandma was such a ⬇
Y‘all! This is a good one!

I received an ARC for Identity by Nora Roberts from NetGalley in exchange for a honest review. I am a big Nora Roberts fan, especially of her romantic suspense. Identity is trademark Nora - tough resilient heroine, stoic/grumpy hero, a truly psychotic villain. Morgan is our protagonist. She works two jobs, has a best friend/roommate, and not much of a social life.⬇️
I‘ve always been a fan of Roberts, especially her JD Robb persona. But this romantic suspense was just too long. 450 pages may not sound lengthy, but the middle was slow and unnecessary in parts. A young woman saving up to own her own bar has her identity and dreams stolen and her bf murdered by a cyber thief/psychopath. Starting over she relocates to live with her mom and grandma, finds a great job, great guy and regains her strength and 🔻
It took me a month to read this. I didn‘t love it, didn‘t hate it, yet it was a slog to get through. Not much romance despite the romantic relationship, no real suspense until the very end. Not what I expected from Ms. Roberts.
