I didn‘t feel connected to these characters, though the writing definitely was made to do so. I could tell, as I did get some every few chapters. The plot of a heist is not my usual trope, I know it‘s a big one now, whereas I wanted more of the dragons behind the veil. The twos banter was amusing, and fun to watch develop, though I wish I could see their connection better. That‘s why the closing chapters really brought it together to me.
“For if there was one thing I‘d learned in my life, it was that knowledge was power. Knowledge was escape. Books were thresholds, and you could cross them and leave yourself behind, or use what you found inside to transform into someone else.”
Finished my 8th book of the year! A fairly casual read with some powerful themes. Not a favorite of mine but enjoyable and glad that I picked it up.
And my birthday books. I'm going through a dragon theme haha. Thank you @CymbaX13 for the Dragonfall book 🐲🐉
Fourth what? Wing who? Banished as folklore in a mythical realm, a dragon masquerades as a human male in order to free his tribe. Enter a nonbinary thief who agrees to assist their comrade in a quest to find magical artifacts to complete a prophecy. As their quest becomes treacherous so does their bond and deep connection as antagonists and villains enter the fray trying to stop them in this queer fantasy novel.
Made it 42% but, gorgeous cover aside, I could go no further ...
Not my book haul! Daughter‘s birthday books 😁 Sansa keeping an eye on them.
So grateful for having today off and getting to spend it reading with this cutie! 🥰📚💕 #catsoflitsy #rumpel
Goldsboro GSFF april subscription box took awhile to get here, a nice special edition … pretty! I‘m looking forward to reading this one.
The pictures don't do it justice, but this is my April 2023 Goldsboro GSFF book! Isn't it GORGEOUS?!!!
I'm gonna put it with Fourth Wing, which also has frolicking dragons across its pages 💕💕💕
Also, you wait a while for one GSFF pick to arrive....
I really liked this queer enemies-to-lovers fantasy with dragons! There was a variety of POVs, plenty of adventure, and a cool magic system. I also really appreciated the exploration of gender fluidity in this world. The writing itself could have been tighter and thus parts of it dragged and felt a bit cluttered, but it didn‘t affect my reading experience too much. 4/5⭐️
I was already super excited about this book, because DRAGONS, so I was even more thrilled when Goldsboro announced this was going to be the April book for the SFF club! 💕🐉📚 It arrived yesterday and is simply stunning! #goldsboro #goldsborobooks
Dragons! My newest haul. I pre-ordered both Yarros and Lam last fall and Tooth & Claw while waiting. Sad that my pre-orders are now series (not originally billed as such to the best of my knowledge) I am most excited for Lam but will probably start with T&C as it‘s a stand alone.
Dragons for today‘s reading.

I rarely read more than one book at once, but I was in the mood for some dragons so I figured why not! This was also just released last week, and I was curious. Ready for some adventure!
