13 posts | 13 read | 3 to read
The next book in the vampire fantasy series by USA Today and international bestselling author Scarlett St. Clair. Isolde, newly coronated queen, has finally found a king worthy of her in the vampire Adrian. But their love for each other has cost Isolde her father and her homeland. With two opposing goddesses playing mortals and vampires against one another, Isolde is uncertain who her allies are in the vampire stronghold of Revekka. Now, as politics in the Red Palace grow more underhanded, inexplicable monster attacks plague the villages, and a deadly crimson mist threatens all of Cordova, Isolde must trust in the bond she's formed with Adrian, even as she learns troubling information about his complicated past.

Eh. I gave it a shot & it was better than the 1st book with the world building mostly err somewhat out of the way, but there‘s a chaotic amount of really mid sex scenes. A few major developments in the plot were interesting &unique. In the authors note St Clair says straight out that she had no plans for anyone‘s back story & that comes through… not EVERY character can be morally grey!

This style seems a little disjointed sometimes, but I will say give it a chance if you have Libby, you might surprised how much fun the chaos can be. Lol now I have to wait till May 2024 to see what happens next 😱 damn soul ripping cliffhanger/revelations #spicy #spicysummer

8 out of 10. I am so pissed!!!! I have to wait for another book and we left off in the middle of a battle. Like wtf?! Still there are some technical issues with storytelling, but it‘s fun read. Now I have to patiently wait for book 3. Some juicy secrets revealed and the spicy parts did not disappoint. #spicy #smut #book2 #poc #woc #vampires #fantasy #julybday #summer

So I am reading book 2 and I want to fight someone lol. I believe I will be left dangling on the edge for the conclusion to this story. This book is disjointed in the story telling, but I am still enjoying it. I am just annoyed I have to wait for a book 3. I can tell with the amount I have read, it will not end here. #summer #summerread #spicy #fantasy #vampire #poc #woc #bipocauthour

Phew the first half of the story dragged. A lot. There was a lot of unnecessary drama and make up sessions. I didn't see any point in it and the "steamy" scenes lacked spice.
It was the second half of the book that was more interesting. Didn't see the twist at the end of the book coming, that's a plus.

3.5 ⭐️ I‘m between pick and so-so. I really like the story but it is lacking in some character developments. I feel like it she was trying to do it at the end but it such an abrupt ending and now I don‘t know how I‘ll feel when the next one comes out next May (2024). There were quite a few typos so a little distracting.

TLuvs An easy read but to much time had passed between the 1st and 2nd books, so gaps made it a little harder to read. A lot of sex and okay plot. Final rating is 3 stars. 2y

This pains me. I loved these characters in the first book. Love them in the second. But what I really miss was storyline and more character development. There is another in the series but at this point I'm doubtful I'll invest in picking it up. This is a spicy read and did have its moments but I'm greedy and I want it all. Spice, story and characters I love. #bookspin #romancefebruary @TheAromaofBooks

TheAromaofBooks So frustrating when a sequel doesn't match up to its predecessor!! 2y

I preferred the first book. This one was a lot of Isolde‘s husband just wanting to sleep with her and not providing her with any sort of help to protect herself besides him. Which is always dumb. Started to change in this area towards the end. I‘ll still probably read the final book when it comes out.

The Queen of Myth and Monsters has more spice than story. That is not always a bad thing but in the case of this novel it is. Will I read the next book in the series? Yes, yes I will. Adrian and Isolde‘s love story is so intriguing. I am giving this book 🌟🌟🌟 stars out of five.

I am 45 percent into this story. Bare in mind that I‘m reading it Apple Books. One thing I can say is that there‘s a story. There are also more spicy scenes in this book than the first book. #queenofmythandmonsters #scarlettstclair

Pretty disappointed in this sequel. The plot was all over the place. The couple has some serious dysfunction in their relationship. I don‘t understand why the love each other NOW as opposed to their past life. I also don‘t like the concept that to be a strong woman and taken seriously you need to be a murderer. Isolde is not like her past self. It was good at the end so I‘ll probably read the next one.
