I love Ann Patchett but this comment about receiving an ARC for her to review doesn‘t sit well with me! “Instead of throwing the book on the towering pile of books I‘ll never get to, I decided to walk it straight to the bin.” That‘s pretty shitty!!! Why toss away an ARC??? It‘s rude, especially since she‘s a novelist herself. 🥺😫😳PS: she ends up reading the first page and is instantly hooked - she LOVES the book Sorrow & Bliss.

There is something absolutely delicious about writers, writing about being readers. I really never get sick of books like this. They capture perfectly all the many things reading and books can mean in our lives. They always make me think of books I‘ve loved, and add lots to my to-read list. A lovely little treat.

I‘d seen reviews for this when it was published a few weeks ago, and I‘ve been longing to read it, but I hadn‘t seen a physical copy so didn‘t know how beautiful it is too. ❤️❤️❤️
