Mama Cat and I enjoyed this one. We would say ⭐️⭐️⭐️. It‘s satirical and odd but I‘m still thinking about it.
I should‘ve bailed. As it is, ended up skimming through a fair amount curious to see if it‘d get better and wanting to know how it ended. Going back to The Adventures of Amina Al-Sirafi. Lady Pirates are much better.
Not my usual style, but this looked like it might be fun so I thought I‘d give it a try…and was quickly reminded of why it‘s not my usually style! I thought this was dreadful: a main character with zero backbone or self respect and instalove in the very first chapter (which I hate). I tolerated it for 15% and couldn‘t take anymore.
"She still hadn't forgiven Stephen King for 'that scene' at the end of It, or Louisa May Alcott for making Joe marry the creepy old German guy in little women."
Such true words! ?? Look, It is one of my favorite King books - but I will never get over the awfulness of 'that scene.' ?
This read just wasn't for me. I liked the book references used throughout the story, but sadly, that's all I liked.
If you enjoy rom-com type reads with a fast paced story then you will like this one far more than me.
