This was not my typical genre, so I think some of my issues with the book are just that it‘s not my usual. I‘m between a pick and a so so. It was exciting and interesting with some twists, although a generally predictable plot. The main character was a bit too incompetent sometimes, which was annoying. But it was easy and fun and overall well done.
Mornings (and weekends!) are the best 😊💙☕️
Well, I loved this one. Lots of thrilling action and suspense. But a lot of heart, too. I especially liked the mentor-student relationship of Emma and Ripley. Can‘t wait for the next installment.
In this fast-paced thriller, a young British agent is assigned to protect the son of Russian defectors and get him across the city to the safety of MI6. The catch: the city's ubiquitous CCTV cameras have been hacked, and Russian agents are hot on their trail. This book was at its best racing through the back alleys of the city; the ending felt a bit tacked on, but it was still a fun, adrenalin-fuelled read.
This was fun, but not my favorite. The main character was competent, but naive. It wasnt hard to root for her, but there were lots of times when it was hard to understand why she would be chosen for a mission so important. It was ok. I probably won't think very long or hard about it!
This was a fun, propulsive spy caper that mostly takes place over the course of ~1.5 days. I really enjoyed the MC (titular Alias Emma)‘s competency and principled approach to her mission of transporting an asset of the British government across London. I loved the interplay between Emma and Michael as they try to survive the very difficult obstacles they encounter. The device of having them try to elude CCTV cameras in London was effective.
Loaded with action! Got my heart racing. This was a fun “escape read.”
It was her backstory of why she became a spy that I most enjoyed. This is where I found the emotional connection with her.
What a fun and fast spy thriller! The bulk of Glass‘ impressive debut novel takes place in a single long night as she tries to get across London and protecting her target from teams of deadly Russian assassins. Along the way, Emma‘s route to becoming a spy unfolds. Entertaining and hard to put down, I thoroughly enjoyed this one! A great summer read for sure! Costumes, multiple chases and explosions all add up to a ton of excitement!
Perfect breezy summer read! Nonstop action with spies, car chases, explosions, and a clever plot. Enjoy! #AliasEmma. #NetGalley
This was a clever book about Emma, a spy whose father was killed. She is determined to help her country as well but things go awry when she is protecting a handsome doctor. You‘ll root for her (and probably feel a little wimpy) when you witness her bravery and brazenness! A quick read!

Do you remember the TV show in the early 2000s with Jennifer Garner called ALIAS? Did you love it? Then read ALIAS EMMA as soon as you can get your hands on it! Fast paced and thrilling, Ava Glass races you through the streets of London in this spy adventure you won‘t be able to put down! This book comes out on August 2nd. Put it on your TBR list! #netgalley #netgalleyreview #aliasemma ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫
A spy novel set in current-day London, rookie spy Emma Makepiece must ferret her asset, the son of a Russian dissident, across the city to MI6 headquarters in 12 hours. The infamous city surveillance grid has been taken over by the Russians, and Emma‘s handler and mentor is off the grid, and she fears a traitor in their ranks. While this is a fairly routine spy/chase/adventure, I enjoyed Emma‘s character…her loyalty, steadfastness and 🔻
