2.75/5⭐️

I read this one for my January #bookspin (3). I had read the first two in the trilogy about 2 years ago, but the second book was a real “pan”. While I‘m glad I finished the series, this one was just barely a so-so. I don‘t like the characters being separated because it made a disjointed story for me. I liked some of the plot lines better than others. By the last fifty-ish pages I was tired of the book.

Maybe I would‘ve liked this more if it weren‘t too similar in plot & theme as a couple of other books I‘ve recently read. Nice writing, but kinda blah. In this story, estranged sisters come back together and work through grief and trauma following the discovery of their mother‘s body- 15 years after she disappeared. #bookspinbingo #bookspin @TheAromaofBooks

Another riveting compilation of shot stories each showing us a bit more of the man behind the white hare and wolf medallion.

I especially enjoyed the last two stories, but I'm bais because I love Ciri. I adore her feisty sprite and determination.

I am however now more than ready to be done with the short stories and be immersed in a full length novel

My January 2025 #Bookspin and #Doublespin wintery picks are done and dusted.
Both were solid reads that made the cold and snow characters in the stories.
Neither knocked my socks off but I enjoyed reading both.
The tagged book was a #netgalley arc, so thanks to them for giving me a copy of the book for an honest review.
That‘s 2 more stripes on Rebecca my knitted #ReadingSnake (horror and thriller)

TheAromaofBooks Woohoo!! Fabulous progress both reading and knitting!! I love the idea of a reading snake!! 3d
Kitta I love Rebecca the reading snake!! I want to make one sometime. How many books are you planning on reading? Did you follow a pattern for her head? (edited) 2d

Chelsea.Poole This is great! 2d
MaleficentBookDragon @Kitta I usually read between 52-63 books a year. I used a pattern for her head called Sweet Little Snake. It‘s free on Ravelry and I modified it to use DK weight yard to make her a little bigger. My inspiration is this woman‘s snake (she will be coming out with a pattern soon). https://www.instagram.com/reel/C4JSt_VvWUv/?igsh=ZTZja3FkZGZoZm1r 2d
MaleficentBookDragon @Booksblanketsandahotbeverage thanks. I like her too. I made mistakes on her head but it‘s good enough for me. Maybe the stitches will smooth out if I steam block her. I was too impatient to block her, wait to dry , and then start the stripes. 2d
Booksblanketsandahotbeverage She looks great to me :) 🐍 Gives her character 2d
Kitta @MaleficentBookDragon amazing thanks! I‘ll look up the pattern. I feel think this would be more manageable than the reading tracking blankets I‘ve seen. I read around a book a week and was curious at how many rows per book you were doing. 14h
MaleficentBookDragon @Kitta I‘m doing 5 rows for each book and 2 rows of the body color in between them. 13h

Evie has realized how strong and badass she is. I loved the deeper dive into the characters and the themes of family, friendship and magic. This was my #BookSpin book.

I really enjoyed this and found myself yearning for my youth also in the 80‘s. The music, the fashion, life without phones and freedom to roam around the bush and neighbourhoods. I also remember that feeling of dread at trying to avoid certain kids who were mean and relentless.

Wow. Very Very sciency so a slow read for me but oh so interesting.

It's the story of an eco activist who, as usual, gets labeled terrorist as he takes on corporate entities who are knowingly polluting the waters in and around Boston.

The real heart-stopping action isn't until the last third or so of the book, but well worth the wait.
